The popular and major airport of Amsterdam is the Schiphol airport. Known as one of the busiest airports of Netherland that connects to numerous prime international destinations, this airport serves millions of passengers every year. Located 15 km towards south-western region of the city, Schiphol airport includes various airlines with numerous flights to Amsterdam and other cities across Netherland. Major operating airlines in this airport are British Airways, Air Italy, Air France, Emirates, Easyjet and a number of low-cost carriers as well. With all these airline services, this airport provides a fairly economical way to reach various national and international destinations including countries in Asia, US and Africa.

Schiphol airport has only one operating terminal. This terminal has all kind of amenities for the passengers. All the departures and arrivals are managed effectively through this terminal with a Schengen and non-Schengen section. Also, the airport has a shopping area known as the Schiphol Plaza in the public area. Passengers will get a number of beautiful shops and boutiques with duty-free shopping options. Aside from that, there are few small supermarkets near the station hall featuring some of the reasonably priced souvenirs, Dutch delicacies and items for the guests to buy. There is also an outside panorama terrace on the public side area of the airport, where you can enjoy watching the flights taking off. Additionally, the airport also houses the world's first permanent airport library alongside the museum inside the airport premise while offering the passengers an access to a collection of up to 1,200 books by various Dutch authors.

Airport amenities include free showers in the toilets near the BA lounge of the airport. All you need is your own toiletries and towels to refresh yourself before your next flight. Alternatively, passengers can also choose to go to the nearby Mercure hotel where there is a private cabin available for €12.50 that includes toiletries and towel for taking bath. The airport also has a good number of eateries and snack bars for the passengers. The airport transportation service also includes train and bus transfer service. You can choose to board at the train station at the airport and reach your final destination. The airport also has minibus and shuttle services for the convenience of the guests. However, the airport also a number of car hire and taxi transfer services for the guests to get around the city.

Amsterdam being a popular tourist destination, experiences a large number of tourists every year. Apart from Schiphol airport, the city also has two other airports. These are the Eindhoven and Rotterdam airport. These two airports have a number of budget airlines offering Amsterdam flights to various destinations. Additionally, these two airports also have well-developed public transport and taxi transfer services for the convenience of guests. For those passengers looking for park and fly options, the Amsterdam airports have a number of parking options. This includes hourly parking and extended parking as well. Based on the requirement, the passengers can choose to buy tickets for parking and fly accordingly.
