An Efficient Garage Includes a Heavy Duty Work Table

By | Oct 23, 2009 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

While some garages are used only for parking cars and storage, most of them double as workshops and hobby areas. Very few however are set up to use the space to its full potential. The addition of a heavy duty work table can increase the amount of use you get from your garage.

The work table placement is key when it comes to adding one. You may still want to park a car in the garage or at least pull one in to work on it. Home vehicle maintenance is one way to save money these days. Choosing a table that can fit along the wall may be your best option.

After choosing the right work table and deciding exactly where you want to place it, then you need to organize the rest of the garage. Add shelving and wall mounted cabinets to increase much needed storage for smaller items and tools. A cabinet mounted directly above the table will let you mount a light underneath to shine directly on the top.

With a heavy duty work table in place, you can begin to think of uses for it. Most people will choose to mount a vise on one corner for those stubborn jobs where you need an extra hand. Some of these tables also come with storage underneath, either shelves or drawers.

The tops of theses can vary widely in material. Decide what you will use it for, then choose the proper top. From butcher block or Formica for light projects to steel tops for the home auto mechanic, there will be one that fits what you need. Scratch and stain resistant ones are also available.

This table will become your best friend in the garage. From holding your favorite project to leaning on while chatting with a friend who stopped by. Choosing the right work table will be no problem as there are many different types out on the market.
