An Intelligent Strategy for Handling Printer Ink Costs

By | May 7, 2010 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0
What's the point in getting brand new cartridges for your printer all the time? Have you ever stopped to think about what a waste it is? The alternative, finding a method of refilling those cartridges, isn't as hard as you might think. And it's a lot less costly to your bank account!

Some cartridges take better to refilling than others. If yours is a black ink only style cartridge, then it can handle more refills than most color ones. It's simply a lot hardier in design, which will let you get more use out of it... if you're willing to do so.

You may feel that refilling a cartridge isn't the right thing to do. Perhaps you feel that it's morally questionable simply because you haven't heard much about the process before. It's true that it began as something of a niche, but the days of sneaking around to get refills are long past. Now, when you go out shopping, you can choose to get a professional ink refill for your cartridge from a store chain.

If you're a do it yourself kind of person, a kit for doing the refilling all on your own can be a viable option. This is often less costly than using a third party retail service. Though these products don't have an indefinite life span, if bought at a price that's reasonable, you'll certainly get your money's worth out of it.

Besides relying on your own skills to refill those cartridges, you can get an expert to do the job for a nominal fee. There are some small companies that focus on doing nothing but refilling printer ink cartridges, in fact. But if you can't find one of those, large retailers do sometimes offer to do so as well.

So, you've got a color printer to refill. How should you go about it? It's not that hard to refill toner cartridges for color printers, but it does have one extra detail: the colors themselves. If you know which colors have run out and which are still close to full, you can get a specific color refill to cut costs significantly.

You don't have to think of refills on your inks as just something to do for the money. It can also be a good deed for humanity in general! By using fewer cartridges, you create less waste. You also push the printer industries towards a more efficient use of resources, such as the oil used to make those cartridges.

Finding the best monochrome laser printer can be more than just finding one that prints well. It can also be about finding a model that allows refilling of ink with little difficulty. If you really care about getting a printer that lasts for a long time to come, you should ponder its refilling abilities along with everything else.
