Android App Review: Android Firefox 7.0.1
Free, full and free, Firefox 5 for Android is effective, well thought out and has strong advantages.Particularly important is the official library of extensions, the original interface, support for HTML5 and good reactivity due to Electrolysis technology allocating a different process to the user interface. Testing Firefox Android:
Firefox 5 for Android is now available in final version. With Firefox Mobile, Mozilla Foundation has just competed with Google Chrome Mobile, the Android default browser, and the two Norwegian Opera Mobile Android and Opera Mini Android.
The Firefox Mobile for Android has strong advantages. In addition to a good response from all and great ideas, Firefox is back with personalization and support for extensions. We discover a real management module to search for extensions in the library which now includes 150 official Mozilla extensions, and you can install and configure them quickly. Note that the Android Flash Player is still not supported in this version. In terms of navigation on the Internet, there is a fast and fluid display of pages, an accurate rendering, support for HTML5 elements such as Canvas and good management of multi-zoom and double-tap. In addition, it takes advantage of location data and has a password manager.
There is also the famous secure synchronization tool "Firefox Sync" built by default in Firefox Windows, Mac and Linux. Through the input of identifiers, it allows you to store, on the secure servers of Mozilla, user settings, history, saved passwords and opened tabs in order to quickly find Firefox Windows, Mac and Linux on Firefox Android. The clear and original interface andlayout of Firefox Mobile are among its strengths. In the center, the display of web sites is in full screen. At start-up, the homepage offers to find the tabs in the previous session and tabs synchronized through two popular extensions.
Simple shifts in the display can show three components. At the top is the famous smart address bar, "awesome bar", for searching with suggestions from Google, Twitter, Wikipedia, Yahoo and eBay. By tapping, it gives access to your history and mobile favorites, along with other pages synchronized from a PC. The left pane hosts the management interface tabs. It offers the possibility of opening new tabs, to switch from one to another by clicking on the previews, and to close them quickly. At right is the "favorites", the navigation arrows next / previous button and access the browser settings. Finally, the menu button "Site Option" offers searching text on the page, saving the page as PDF, and to share addresses via Bluetooth, Facebook, Gmail, SMS, MMS, and Twitter.
As for parameters, you can access the management modules extensions and downloads. Via the "Preferences" tab, you are allowed to customize the home page, enter your "sync" username and password to eliminate history, cache and cookies, and to disable the display of images, the performance of JavaScript, the storage of passwords and the use of cookies. Last but not Least, note the introduction of the famous option "Do Not Track" to indicate automatically to sites visited your refusal to see your personal information used for navigation in order to display targeted advertisements.
Fixes and improvements: As for patches, Firefox Mobile 5 allows to solve the problems of forms, display translations of menus, and page loading in the absence of internet connection. For improvements, this new version offers more responsive, faster loading of pages including 3G, a more realistic display of colors in images and videos as well as better support for virtual kSwift Keyeyboards.
To operate, Firefox Mobile 5 requires a ARMv7 processor, Android 2.0 and a basic minimum of 13 MB of storage space.
