Anger is a spirit and the bible speaks of casting spirits out. A life that is ruled by anger is an unhappy one. All his relationships are affected and failure more than success is what is reaped from such a quality of life.
A quick-tempered man does foolish things, and a crafty man is hated (Proverbs 14:17). Like a city whose walls are broken down is a man who lacks self-control (Proverbs 25:28). A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control. "In your anger do not sin": Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold (Ephesians 4:26-7).
You were not meant to live this way. God is a God of peace and since he made us like himself we share in his peaceful nature. However, nothing in life is automatic. We have to make choices to come to the right place. This is true of choosing to be peaceful rather than angry.
There are different ways through which the spirit of anger can be developed and two that I see often is through hate or resentment and illiteracy. And both of these can be rectified. Hate or resentment can be remedied by forgiving and leaning to love again, and for Illiteracy leaning to read and write will set you free.
I believe that anyone wanting to change will give themselves to making change happen remember everything in life is a choice nothing is automatic.
Father, in the Name of Jesus, I rebuke anger from my body. I am humble in spirit and will not let anger rule over me. I will not give any place to the devil. I am the righteousness of God and greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world.
Thank you Lord, for setting me free. Amen
