Anti Aging Makeup
With the pressure to look young and attractive, women turn to a whole slew of creams, serums and moisturizers that will help preserve their youthful beauty. Vanity? Perhaps. But really, who wants to look their age (or even older than their age), when they can actually look years younger? Indeed, it is gratifying to hear, "You're already in your forties? Why, you don't look a day over thirty!" That, for some women is music to the ears.
It's a good thing that there is also makeup that can help us with this. Nowadays, makeup is infused with ingredients that help diminish wrinkles and even out the skin. Some even go further and claim that with continuous use, they help erase blemishes and not just camouflage it.
Be that as it may, anti-aging makeup is seen as an additional step. But, really, since manufacturers can only put so much anti-aging ingredients in the makeup, its effect is not as marked as when one uses creams and serums that are targeted to address the evidences of aging.
But there is no need to fret. With the right application, makeup can also have an anti aging effect on your overall appearance. Indeed, you can use makeup to imbibe your skin with a youthful glow. This article gives you some short and quick tips on how to use anti-aging makeup to give you its fullest advantage.
1. Don't forget the basics – moisturize and put on some primer. These ensure that your skin is more even and the foundation and makeup will be placed on a smooth canvass.
2. For foundations, it's best to use matte shades and not a shimmer foundation, as these tend to focus on your fine lines and wrinkles.
3. To erase some age spots and other facial flaws, try mixing some concealer on your foundation. This will help cover up the blemishes while giving your face a uniform and even look.
4. Dust just enough powder on your nose and t-zone. When you put on too much, it tends to dry the skin and thus make you look more mature.
5. Avoid glitter and shimmers. It may look cute on a 15-year old, but not on mature faces. Instead, opt for natural colors.
6. When using an eyeliner, line the upper lash line and smudge. This makes for a softer look. Also, if you have to apply eyeliner on the lower lash line, limit it to the outer corner, only a third of the length of the lashline.
7. For lipsticks, use neutral and light shades. Lipstick has the tendency to bleed into your mouth's fine lines. To avoid that, you can also use a lip pencil that blends with your lip color.
