Anti Aging Vitamins

By | Sep 7, 2009 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

Vitamins (both found in food and manufactured supplements) provide great sources of anti-aging agents. These promote longevity, fight the damage caused by harmful free-radicals and prevent the onset of aging.

We encourage you to load up on these vitamins as each vitamin has a specific function in fighting disease and aging. There are vitamins that fight free radicals and prevent the damage they do to the body – such as vitamins A, C, E and the B Vitamins. There are also vitamins that prevent heart disease. These include CoEnzyme Q10, Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids and flavonoids. There are also supplements that promote digestive health (probiotics and fiber) and those that are rich in enzymes.

Now, when you talk about food, where do you get these vitamins? Let us take a look at the foods that are rich in the vitamins that you need. Citrus fruits and leafy green vegetables (spinach and broccoli) contain great amounts of vitamin C, which promotes youthful looking skin. You can also eat dairy foods, oats, nuts, grains, asparagus and sunflower oil to get Vitamin E, which helps to strengthen our cell membranes.

Vitamin D, meanwhile, exists in abundance in fatty fish such as salmon and is useful in preventing bone disease. To fight heart disease, as well as give your memory and energy levels a boost, you should eat fortified cereals, which will provide you with B vitamins and folic acid. Other food you should look into are eggs, seafood, garlic and whole grain foods, as these also contain other vitamins and minerals that effectively ward off aging and cancer. These include minerals such as selenium, copper, zinc, manganese, lycopene, lutein, and a host of other important nutrients.

However, we should admit that our diet has been sadly deficient. Also, as time passes, our ability to absorb these minerals from our food decreases over time. So it is best to ensure that we get enough of these anti-aging vitamins and minerals by way of manufactured supplements. There are plenty of other powerful compounds that you can take to help you in staving off the effects of time.

If you are thinking that you should grab as much of these supplements and take as many as you can in one go, you are likely making a mistake that will adversely affect your health. These vitamins are best taken using the right amount and the right combination. Some vitamins work best in conjunction with others, while some tend to function negatively and cancel the effect of the other vitamins you are also taking.
