A lot of people may have one or two antique appliances in their house and probably do not know very much about them. This means that when something breaks it will need to be taken apart and fixed. One way of doing this is to send it off to a specialist who will be able to do the job for you. This however can be extremely expensive and can even cost more than what you paid for the item in the first place.

Doing a little research on the Internet will quickly bring up a few results on how to solve this problem. Before we go any further you should be willing to take the antique item apart and do a little DIY yourself. This can be extremely rewarding and teach you a little history.

Once you have diagnosed the problem you will need to find the broken part. The best way to go about this is to visit antique fairs were people sell all kinds of appliances. You may not be able to get the piece you want separately but you may be able to find an exact model that is broken.

The other way to get antique appliance parts is to search the Internet for dealers. This can be on auction sites or antique forums. On the auction sites the stock will change and after a little patience you may find what you need. But internet forums specializing in antique parts will be the easiest way. By simply posting in the classifieds or wanted sections, specialists in that area will make contact with you.
