Are Stretch Mark Treatments Real or False Hope?
Stretch mark treatments are becoming much more prevalent nowadays. These treatments include creams, gels, exercise and diet regimens, and cosmetic surgery. Because there is so much development in cosmetology, treating stretch marks is becoming easier, and these treatments are becoming much more accessible to the general public - not just to celebrities.
Each treatment has its own advantages and disadvantages, but each one has similarities which you should know. Before you choose which treatment to use for your stretch marks, you should know what makes them work, what they do for you, and what you should expect from them.
All stretch mark treatments aim for one thing - to repair the torn tissue in your skin by stimulating the synthesis or creation of collagen or elastin. These treatments do so through the use of ascorbic acids, peptides, and in the case of laser surgery, energy from ultraviolet light.
Stretch marks are very common for pregnant women and adolescents, because their growth spurt is sometimes too rapid for the skin to keep up with stretching.
Beware though, since some treatments only cover up the stretch marks on the skin itself, by diluting its color or concealing it for a limited amount of time.
What your treatment should do is restore your skin's strength so that it won't break when your body grows, and dissolve the scars deep inside the tissue that was damaged which led to those stretch marks.
In terms of known remedies, stretch marks have a lot compared to other skin conditions. However, not all stretch mark treatments are proven to work on everyone, and not all actually address the problem itself, which is the damaged skin.
Understanding what causes these stretch marks allows you to understand what needs to be done – and if you know that, then you would know what type of treatment is best suited to rid you of the stretch marks you so badly want to be erased from your skin.
