Lots of people want to start their own business. They think it is all about getting rich and laying on the beach drinking boat drinks the rest of your life. It is amazing how many people I have heard say they want to have there own business so they don't have to work any more. This is so completely wrong it is absolutely laughable.
Every small business owner I have ever known has worked harder than all his or her employees. The business owner needs to wear all kinds of hats and do all the tasks that no one else will. They usually arrive first and leave last each day along with working weekends and late nights. Starting your own business so you don't have to work is not something that you will find realistic.
Even if you don't have employees you still need to work very hard to be successful with your own enterprise. Some people claim that a successful online business opportunity is really easy to come by. Again, nothing could be further from the truth. All of the successful online marketers I know will tell you that making it online takes a lot of work. And the reason most people are not successful has nothing to do with smarts, but it has all to do with how many hours upon hours upon hours the person is willing to put in. If you do the work you will be successful. If you don't, then you won't.
So if you are looking for an online home based business opportunity then you need to be ready to burn the midnight oil. The internet is all about information and the transfer of that information. That means, in order to be successful you will need to spend a lot of time writing content. You can't just put up a web site and then sit back waiting to get rich. Well you can, but you won't get rich. You need to get out and advertise your site by writing articles for other sites that will then link to your web pages making people want to visit your stuff. It takes lots and lots of articles to be successful
If you have any thoughts of starting a business so you can relax then wipe them from your mind. When a person has their own business they work harder than all their employees.

I agree that the business owner needs to work extremely hard...at first. Once a solid business system is in place, it is possible to remove yourself from the system and still see profits. It all depends on how you build the business. You must focus on structuring the business so that the VP and mangers you hire can make the decisions necessary for it to succeed. Lots of work at first, yes, but over time it is definitely possible to put your business (and profits) on auto-pilot.
