Asian Blepharoplasty surgery

Eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure which is done on the upper eyelid or lower eyelid or both to remove the excess fat and muscles. With age the muscles get weakened and the fat starts getting accumulated in the folds of the eyelid.

The eyelid surgery will correct that and for a few years you will have that rejuvenated youthful look. You will then have to undergo another round of eyelid surgery to remove the excess fat again.

Asian blepharoplasty or the African American Blepharoplasty is very different in its intent than what we know as eyelid surgery. The main purpose of the Asian eyelid surgery is to make sure that the patient who has those typical Asian eyes will look more American after the surgery. The purpose of the Asian surgery is not to remove the fat but to correct the eyelids in a way such that the features around the eyes do not look Asian anymore.

Same is the intent of the African American eyelid surgery. The main focus of the African American Blepharoplasty is to make sure that the person has less prominent features.

To get this type of surgery done you will have to do some solid initial search for the right surgeon. You need to find a surgeon who specializes in this type of surgery. Most cosmetic surgery specialists do not specialize in the Asian surgeries. The surgeon who is familiar with the Asian features or the Afro American features will be able to do justice to the surgery.

The eyelids have a very different construct in the ethnic communities. They tend to droop down a lot and are much arched. The folds are also much curved. To correct that a specialist surgeon is needed who has good experience doing such surgeries in the past. They will exactly where to make the incision and where to enhance the muscles.

The traditional Asian communities that have undergone such procedures are Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, Indian and Chinese. Chinese and the Korean origin people are in fact using this procedure a lot to change the way they look.

Before you finalize the surgeon always check the cost and the possibility of getting the surgery financed. In most cases the insurance companies will not finance this kind of surgery as it is purely cosmetic procedure. That said there are specialized finance companies who will give you finance however the rate of interest charged is very high.
