Asus graphics cards and Vista
I encountered all of the problems here myself, and have found it really hard to fix them, googling still took me hours to fix some of them.
problem 1: crashes saying "[program] has stopped working"
fix 1:
install windows 7, it works great.
fix 2:
Update drivers, on my card - the EAH3650 - the drivers on the cd that came with it were corrupted.
it helps if you download drivers from http://www.asus.com
the latest are pretty good, but I encountered different problems with that which are stated later in this article.
problem 2: computer won't boot anymore, giving an error (which is different per monitor) like "no input"
As I previously mentioned, I encountered more problems, this one was definitely the nastiest and took me a full day to fix.
step 1:
Boot your computer into safe mode (with network) at least it will boot now, if you encountered this problem, you probably have done this by now.
step 2:
Download driver cleaner from here: http://downloads.guru3d.com/Driver-Cleaner-Professional-download-745.html
step 3:
Run driver cleaner, if you have an ati card (you can see that on the Asus website), select all ati stuff and remove.
it should boot normally again.
step 4:
Boot normally and install a new driver from the Asus site.
Now your graphic card should be working perfectly again.
If you encounter any more problems with your Asus graphics card, please say so in the comments, I might have already had that problem and forgot about it.
I definitely hope you've had less problem finding this article than I have had finding the fixes.
