At Home Remedy Treatments for Acne

By Edited Jan 13, 2016 0 0

As we all know, acne is very difficult to deal with. Not only can it lower one's self-esteem and confidence but it also is a skin condition. Acne is a result of a combination of your pores clogged with oil and dirt. If not treated, acne can worsen and leave permanent scarring. These are 5 at home remedy treatments that you can try to help your acne condition.

Things You Will Need

1. Baking Soda
2. Green Tea
3. Lemons
4. Honey
5. Eggs

Step 1

I've experimented with baking soda after I heard some good things about it. From my experience, this was a very inexpensive home remedy that actually worked. I created a baking soda paste and applied to a small affected area on my face and also my nose. I then left it on there for about 30 seconds to a minute before rinsing it. Be very careful and don't be rough with your skin. You might get a slight tingling sensation but I've had great results. My skin is a lot smoother and this has removed the blackheads on my nose also but I must admit, it's a bit messy!

Step 2

Green tea has been known to have many beneficial properties since it is loaded with antioxidants which we all know, fights free radicals. I have a routine where I drink a cup of green tea each day and it has helped me tremendously. You could also apply green tea to your face! Create a very concentrated green tea mixture and apply it topically onto your face before bed. This will help reduce redness and can even help your acne scars fade.

Step 3

A very inexpensive at home acne remedy is lemon juice to help with acne scarring. This was actually really painful when I first used it because it really stung. Make sure you don't have any open cuts or freshly popped pimples when you apply lemon juice on your face. Just squeeze some fresh lemon juice onto a cotton pad and gently apply. Leave it on your face for 5 minutes and then rinse off.

Step 4

Another inexpensive household item you can use to help with your acne is honey. I usually just apply honey and leave it on my face for about 15 minutes before rinsing it off. From my experience, it has helped alleviate the redness that comes with acne and as well as leave my skin really soft.

Step 5

One of my favorite at home remedies is to use egg whites. Separate the egg yolk from the egg white and whisk the egg whites until it becomes a foamy mixture. Apply the egg whites to your face and leave on for 30 minutes. It is best to do this before a shower! After 30 minutes, just hop into the shower and rinse off. This should help with removing blackheads!
These are all very inexpensive at home remedy treatments that you can do yourself. Over-the-counter treatments that I have used have often left my skin dry and irritated which is why I have chosen to explore natural remedies that could benefit me.

Tips & Warnings

These are just some at home remedy treatments that I've looked into and have helped with my acne tremendously. Please take into account that everyone has a very unique skin type and not all treatments work for everyone. Be sure to first test each remedy on a small area to see how your skin reacts. Good luck to you all!
