New viruses emerge in the process of antigenic shift or if at least two viruses combine. It seems that new and stronger forms of the swine flu have been on mutating side. Avoiding the Swine Flu takes more effort to make sure you and your family does not succumb to this outbreak.
Listed are some guide lines that will help you get through this season without getting the swine flu or the flu.

Watch and listen to the news. This is the quickest way that information on such subject as the swine flu, that concerns the population as a whole, is circulated.

Stay out of and away from hospitals if possible. The best way to avoid any possible contact with anyone who could be carrying or a carrier of the swine flu is to stay away from hospitals. A hospital is a hotbed of germs and virus's, even though they sanitize and clean at regular intervals.

Wash you hands. This is the best way to avoid any kind of virus or germs. The swine flu or any other flu virus's can not survive when subjected to soap and water.

Get an annual flu and H1N1 shots. Though most people will survive this season without getting the H1N1 virus, children, those who care for children, daycare workers, teachers, those with compromise immune systems and the elderly are encouraged to get the H1N1 vaccine. This vaccine is also available to the general population, but supplies may be limited in your area.
