Baby Shower Candles

By | Feb 16, 2011 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

Your baby shower can be perfect with some cute or beautiful baby shower candles. This can add a bit of a grown up air to a fun party and a light glow to your tables. You can use the baby shower candles in several ways and give them away as prizes and favors at the end of the party. The mom-to-be is also likely to enjoy having one or two after the blessed event is over!

Baby Shower Candles - Themes
It isn’t hard to find a wide variety of options when looking for baby shower candles. You can choose candles that will match your baby shower themes. Common themes that are easy to find candles to match include baby animals, ducks, Noah’s ark, and even Winnie the pooh.

Baby Shower Candles - Shapes
Even easier to find than themed based candles are those in cute baby shapes. You can find bassinets, booties, baby bottles, hearts, teddy bears, and a wide variety of shapes that will match your parties decorations. There are also some cute ones such as “baby is brewing” coffee cup candle or the “about to pop” candle that is a box of popcorn.

Baby Shower Candles - Colors
In addition to cute shapes you can also find candles in the perfect baby shower colors. Pink and blue are most popular, but you can also find white, yellow, and green for your baby shower if you are looking for a more neutral option. By choosing colors that match the rest of the party you will be adding even more to your baby shower decor.

Baby Shower Candles - Holders
If candles themselves aren’t what you want to spend your money on then maybe a good candle holder is a better option. You can find many with cute baby shower themes and sayings on them. You can also find glittery options, candle holders with special shapes such as the pea pod candle holder, and other great options that will allow you to match your theme.

Baby Shower Candles - Make Your Own
Maybe you are interested in making your own baby shower candles. This can be an easy project with a few great options for adding a touch of baby to them. For this project you will need parafin or soy wax from the craft store or an online seller. You will also need a candle mold or a candle holder that you want your baby shower candle to look like or fit in.

  1. Melt the wax. You can use a pair of old pans that you don’t want any more (double boiler style) or you can purchase a wax melter. Either option will work, but melt the wax slowly to make sure that it doesn’t burn.
  2. Attach your wick to your candle holder or mold.
  3. Add dye and fragrance and stir well. Pastel colors are really easy to make, but be careful not to add much dye to get there. Add the smallest amount possible, stir and then add more if needed. Pale pink, blue, green, and yellow are all great colors to use, but you can also get creative with shades of purple, aqua, and peach.
  4. Pour the wax into the mold or holder. You will need to allow it to cool for several hours if you are using a mold. You want it solid, but still soft and pliable.
  5. Remove from mold if you used one.

It really is that simple. Color and fragrance can be great ways to turn your candles into baby shower candles. However, you can also warm the wax a little after the candle has hardened and add baby confetti or pieces of baby yarn to the outside for a visually appealing baby shower candle.

Baby Shower Candles - Where To Put Them
Baby shower candles make great decorations to add anywhere and everywhere to a room. You can add them around the eating tables, on the buffet table, on the gift table (consider not lighting them here for fear of burning gifts), and on tables around the space.

Baby Shower Candles - Prizes
You can give the baby shower candles away as prizes as well. This works if you light them and use them during the party or you can simply use them as decoration and avoid lighting them. In any case they can be door prizes or prizes for games that you play.

Baby Shower Candles - Favors
Baby shower candles can also be favors. If you buy enough you can send one home with each person who comes to the party. This can be a nice way to use your decorations as thank yous as well.

Baby shower candles make great decorations and can be used as prizes and favors. You can also send them home with the mom-to-be. In any case a few cute candles can add a lot to your perfect baby shower.
