When bloggers begin working with their first blog the undertaking is overwhelming. There are tons of things to be done to run a blog and it is difficult to find time to do them all. Though, many of the tasks may seem tedious or time-consuming that take you away from actually blogging are necessary and important.  One of the most important tasks for blogging is working on good SEO. Investing in good SEO habits is necessary for a better blog. These are bad search engine optimization habits you should avoid.

Not Using SEO

Search engine optimization is important for a blog for a number of reasons. Search engine optimization that employs good techniques will increase your page rank and get your blog recognized by search engines.

Search engines that find your blog through terrific SEO will present your blog when readers enter query information. SEO makes your wonderful content easier to find and show to readers. Good SEO will increase traffic and eventually build an audience.

Investing in search engine SEO is the difference between blogs that fail and those that are a success. When it comes to a habit to avoid this is one that is best evaded.

Not Using Great Keywords and Phrases

Great keywords and phrases are the stuff that good SEO is made of. Finding the right keywords that work for your blog niche are ideal. Investigate keywords and use the right keywords to get the most out of your content that you create.

Wonderful keywords help your readers to value the content presented by your blog. Not using the right keywords for your blog is a habit to avoid.

Don’t Submit Your Blog Site Map

A blog site map is used by search engines to crawl your site and find it and the content it holds. Many bloggers assume that site maps for blogs are automatically updated. This is not necessarily true. Submit your blog site map to make certain your blog is seen by search engines.

Submitted a site map to search engines exhibits exactly what content you have created for readers to enjoy. Remember that you want to drive traffic to your posts. Without a site map readers may accidentally find your content. However, a site map is a vehicle to bring the traffic from a search engine to a blog.

Not Using Google Analytics or Similar Tools

Google Analytics or any analytical tool is how you get statistical data for your blog. Stats are important for a blog. The numbers presented can help you decide what direction to take your blog in next. The numbers provided can help you by providing the bounce rate for readers, how much traffic you are receiving and what is your most popular posts.

Analytical data can offer both positive and negative information and using these to make decisions about your blog, especially your content. Finding out your most popular post can help you find what posts to repeat or what keywords readers are searching for. Not using an analytical tool to analyze your stats is a bad habit for SEO.

Make the Wrong Back links

Back links are great for SEO. Search engine optimization increases with great links. The right back links are links that connect similar relevant content to each other. Back links that are created from one of your posts to another are the best for your blog overall.

Search engines keep track of how many incoming links that your blog has. The more incoming links the better. The best back links are those links that are from higher PR or page rank blogs to your blog.

Making the wrong back links means you are not linking to the right text or connecting your readers with relevant content. Use the right anchor text to point to content and pages. Avoid using the same anchor text so your content doesn’t look like spam to the search engines.

A list of five similar keywords for each post is ideal. All of these words should mean the same thing and link to variations of your anchor text.

Not Using Social Networking

Not being sociable is a bad SEO habit. Have buttons tied to your blog that allow readers to share your content with social bookmarking or social networking sites.

Readers that share your content will attract more traffic than if you share your content yourself. Make it easier for them to do so.

Forget that Great Quality is King

Quality is more important than anything when it comes to writing great search engine optimization, using terrific keywords and gaining traffic for your blog. if you forget that great quality is king you will not improve anything when it comes to your blog no matter how much SEO you use.  Produce quality content all around at every opportunity to make your blog better than the competition and create a quality blog.

These are bad SEO habits. Some would even categorize these as terrible SEO habits to display for bloggers that want to succeed. Better search engine optimization will increase readers, traffic and income received from your blogging efforts.
