The Bahamas has become synonymous with summer, sand, and beaches. Having a Bahamas vacation is anyone's perfect summer escapade. Who wouldn't want to have a Bahamas vacation were one can enjoy luxurious amenities, white sand beaches, and crystal clear waters. The Bahamas is located in the Caribbean region, which has a tropical climate, however it is relatively cooler than the other islands in the region. Though the climate in the Bahamas is tropical, it is said that it is like summer althroughout the year which makes it perfect for a Bahamas vacation.

For a tourist, one should be aware of the currency used in the country or place of destination. This is to avoid cash shortage in case there are no money or currency changers in the area. Good thing for those who are planning on a Bahamas holiday is that they should not worry much about this for the currency used in the Bahamas, Bahamian Dollar, is just at par and interchangeable with the US dollar. Also, in cases that one has run out of cash, being a top tourist destination, there are a quite a number of banks and a lot of ATM machines in the area. There are approximately 360 financial institutions in the area where one can take care of their banking and financial errands.

Where to Go

When one has booked the best-value Bahamas vacation package or Bahamas cruise, planning one's itinerary is not far behind. A Bahamas holiday would not be complete without island hopping and visiting the area's long chain of beaches. The capital of the Bahamas is Nassau which is located at the country's main island, New Providence, where the majority of the country's best hotels can be found. Another island to visit is the Grand Bahama where the Freeport is located. The Freeport is considered as the country's center for eco-tourism for it provides a variety of activities for tourists of all ages. The Freeport offers nature tours to botanical gardens and parks and at the same time have casinos, bars, and restaurants where one can relax and unwind after a long day at the beach. Except for the New Providence and the Great Bahama, all other islands are called Out Islands.
