Basic White Bread Recipe

Basic White Bread
Oven 375 degrees
Bake for 30 minutes


1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 cup water
3 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp suger
2 tsp salt
5 1/2 cup bread flour


for a heavier bread use 2 1/4oz pck yeast
for lighter bread use 1 1/4oz pck yeast

Mix milk, butter, suger, salt .. till all disolved and mixed well.
Mix yeast and water - let stand 5 minutes to disolve all yeast, add luke warm milk mixture to water and yeast mixture and kneed in 41/2 cup flour.
Add remaining flour 1/2 cup at a time till dough pulls away from side of bowl ,
kneed speed 2 for 2 minutes or longer. dough should be smooth and elastic like.
Cover in greased bowl till double in bulk, usually takes 30 minutes.. keep on top of stove after preheated.
Punch down and shape into a loaf- regular baking loaf pans are good for measuring how big.
Rise in loaf pan until double bulk usually 1 to 11/2 inches over pan .
Bakes for 30 minutes, immediately remove from pan and cool on cookie rack.. immediately brush top with melted butter.

Let cool down for 30 minutes before slicing and store into a tupperware container for best freshness and length of time before getting molding.

You can freeze up to 4 weeks if wrapped tightly in saran freezer wrap!
