Bath Taps for Any Bathroom Decor

By | May 14, 2010 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

Many styles or varieties of bath taps are available. There is a model for any decor or bathroom style, whether traditional or trendy. Today there are so many different models to choose from, that choosing may be a challenge. So many different finishes and options allow you to customize your powder room any way you like.

Some bath taps use a single control or lever for both hot and cold water. Typically, the lever is turned left for hot and right for cold, though this is not always the case. Newer single lever models may move back or forward to control the temperature of the water. These more contemporary models eliminate the need to reach above the arm of the spout to turn the water on an off.

Others use two knobs to control the hot and cold water. There are so many different styles, that you can choose the controls that work best for your situation. Some handles are more ergonomic and easier to turn than the larger traditional handles, especially for small hands. Handles can be simple or very ornate, with brass trim pieces.

The spout itself can be designed with very straight, simple lines, or with a high arch or curve. For the bath, such high arches are not necessary but do provide a look of elegance. A lower profile might be more desirable to prevent small children from bumping their heads if they love to play in the tub. Some faucets come with optional sprayers, for hard to reach areas or for rinsing soap suds and residue. Newer models may contain soap and shampoo dispensers. Faucets with a waterfall effect are also available today.

Like other faucets, there are various brands of different quality. Though one can save money by purchasing a more basic, generic model, more money may be spent down the road in replacing the product. A device of decent quality can be purchased for slightly more than a cheap one and may be well worth the extra investment. Moen, Price Pfister and Kohler are a few more names that are reliable. An old English style in brushed nickel can be purchased for around $50.

Bathtub water lines can be hard to reach and it is better to use a product that reduces the number of times you must access those lines for installation. Whether you need to replace a rusty device or want to change to look of your bath tap, there is a model available that will do the job and look good in your bathroom.
