Bathroom Wall Panels- Choosing the Right Panel for Your Bathroom

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

If you are in budgeting pickle with your bathroom remodeling and are looking for a cheap way out, then choosing a bathroom wall panel and forgoing the tiled look may be the way to go. These types of wall panels may be cheaper but are just as functional as their counterparts. And when it comes showers and bathrooms, sometimes you have to choose function over look. Plus, there are some benefits that a bathroom wall panel has that some of the other more expensive alternatives don't. Let's investigate....

Different types of Bathroom Wall Panels

Wall panels for the bathroom come in all sorts of color schemes and styles and they come in such a variety that virtually anyone will find something that will suit their needs. Here are just a few of the styles you can choose from:
  • A wall panel with a mosaic effect
  • The woodgrain effect
  • The marble effet
  • ...and of course solid colors
The great part about these types of panels is that you can easily find matching ceiling panels at your local home improvement store.

The Positives of Choosing Wall Panels For Your Bathroom

Besides the lower cost of installing wall panels, there are also some very big upsides to choosing them. Bathroom wall panels are water proof and are most likely made with UPVC, or in layman's terms, thermoplastics. In rare cases, some wall panels are made with an exterior grade medium density fiberboard or MDF. This type of panel is covered with a laminate that is high pressured and then another laminate to help prevent warping of the panel.

Bathroom Wall Panels can also be considered more hygienic than tile because certain types of fungus will actively grow on the grout if it is not cleaned regularly. Better yet, wall panels respond better than their counterparts in terms of cleaning not only because of their sleek design but also because of their sturdy nature; they are very responsive to heavy duty cleaners and are not likely to be damaged by them.

Finally, most bathroom wall panels come with a 10 to 15 year warranty, making this a one and done feature for anyone who doesn't like to remodel often.

So, in summation, while a bathroom wall panel may not be ceramic tiles, they do have some definite upsides that a tiled bathroom does not have. The only downside is that the look of the bathroom may be a bit cheaper. So, if you are looking to remodel your bathroom and want a cost effective alternative to tile for your bathroom, wall panels may be the perfect fit for you.
