One of the requirements to become a teacher online is a degree in teaching issued from an accredited university or college. They must also have a state license to teach. Experience and credentials will also be necessary in the field that the teacher wishes to teach in. Usually you will have to have a Doctorate or Masters degree for any online teaching position. They must also have the ability to handle the technology for their classes.

There are at least three different schools online that can help you to become an online teacher. Kaplan University has a Master's of Science in Education as well as ASIS or a Teacher's Aide training. You also have Walden University that offers both a PhD in Education and Educational Technology. Strayer University also has a Master's in Education with a Technology in Education Concentration. These are just three of the many different online colleges that can prepare you for a career in online teaching.
