Becoming A Life Coach

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

Imagine that you are in a play where you have the leading role, they give you a script, and an outline for what each scene should be like and how it should look like. You then deliver the lines and you get feedback from the director on how the overall performance of the scene played out. Much like in life we play a role, a role that has been imposed by society, culture, tradition, and our own belief of ourselves that has been created by our experience and our education. We live in many times in a zombie type state going through the motions without a destination, without a purpose .

At times we fall prey to our inner dialog, to the voice in side of our head that tells us what we can or cannot do, how to act. In a moment of opportunity we might hear the voice say you can't do it, or you might hear it say go for it, we can do it. During the process of becoming a life coach you will learn many of the skills and tools to be able to identify many of your limitations, to set a direction, to set goals and milestones, you learn about accountability, about taking full responsibility of all your actions, when you are in truth or when you are in fraud.

The first step towards any outcome is awareness of where we are now, and where we want to be. While it may not be necessary to obtain a life coach certification unless you already have years of experience in a related field, it will be much easier to build credibility for yourself with an institution such as ICF international coaching federation certifying you as a competent coach that has met all the international requirements for coaching. To become a life coach you must have a really passion to make not only changes in people's lives but also to make real changes in your own life.

Personal life coaching starts with you first, how can you coach others if you are not in the place within ourselves to take responsibility or have a clear sense of direction. The coaching process will allow you to discover many aspects of yourself that you might have never been aware off otherwise; it brings you to a place where you must dig deep in your spirit to confront things that you might have hidden from your present mind. Then you can coach others on how to do the same, the result is a synergistic relationship of change.
