Bed Bug Repellent

Bed bugs are becoming a large problem in the United States. Since the government has banned the use of certain insecticides, the bed bug has been allowed to resurface. This pesky little critter is not easy to get rid of once it has made itself a home. It would be nice if this so called bed bug repellent worked, but at the time of this writing, there is no such thing. A bed bug cannot be fettered, it can only be killed. Though it is possible for any home to become a haven for bedbugs, there are certain measures people can take to try and reduce their risk.

If you would like to repel bed bugs, you must first know how they like to live. A bed bug is brownish in color is about a quarter inch in length. It likes to hide in the dark during the day and will come out to suck the blood of its victim while their victim sleeps. This will occur just before dawn.

What are bed bug bite symptoms? The bed bug bite will often go undetected since it will numb the skin of the victim before actually feeding on the blood. If you awake with a new rash or bumps that have suddenly appeared, you may in fact have bed bugs. Below are some different steps you can take to keep bed bugs out of your house and how to get rid of them if you have them.

A good bed bug repellent is keeping a clean house. While bedbugs do not only attack unkempt homes, they are more commonly found there. If you have torn mattresses or couches, they should be replaced because this is where bed bugs like to live. Storing clothes that are not worn often in plastic bags can be good, as this will keep the insects and moths out.

If in fact your home does become infected with bed bugs, it can be a very difficult process to get rid of them. They will live in the tiniest of areas, making it very difficult to kill the bed bugs. In most cases, the best idea is to contact a bed bug exterminator as they will have the experience and the knowledge on how to rid yourself of the bugs.
