Weight Train For The First Time
The very first time you weight train may be the most hectic thing you’ll ever do. You’ll feel tired, heavy and the next day you’ll experience soreness like you’ve never have before.
On the other hand, if you continue weight training, endorphins will be released after your workouts and moving around never felt easier. The feeling never ends and you’ll eventually forget how strong you really are.
There are risks involved and if you don’t know what you’re doing, you’ll put yourself in a dangerous situation. An injury is the last thing that anyone should have. If you workout and you get an injury, you may not be able to train as hard for a long time or even worse, you’ll stop training all together.
That doesn’t mean you should stop now, it means you need to plan. You should know what to do before you walk into the gym floor. When you go to sleep tonight you should be excited for the next day, because you know it will be an amazing workout that will lead to you to your dream fitness level.
Take advantage of dreaming because if you don’t know what you want, you’re results won’t be at its best. The picture of the body that you want should always be in your head. Use your mind to lead your body. When you know what you want, and the image is perfectly clear in your mind, you’ll be able to go after it harder and better than ever.
When you have a clear image, you should feel more and more excited to get it. You’ve heard the saying “mind over body” right? It’s true and every successful athlete and bodybuilders uses imagery. It’s one of the most powerful tools anyone can use. Keep dreaming and picture perfect what you want.
Start lifting the lightest weight. You need to perfect the way you lift the weight so you don't put yourself at risk for injury. Check if your back is straight with your stomach tight and your breathing is constant and deep.
Work your way up with the weights after you've completed 15 easy repetitions.
If you are not consistent, you will not see the results you're after. Fitness is a life long process and weights are the perfect way to do it. Focus on using free weights in your program and make sure you don't work the same muscle twice in a week at high intensity. Let your muscles recover and let yourself enjoy the process of muscle building and fat loss. You'll see the results you're after but don't let it be a 90 day program. Let it be for life!
Take small steps when you are weight training. No one jumps in the gym for the very first time and plans for a world record. You need to be realistic and take small steps for the best results. Do not expect to be superman on the first day. Build up the intensity so your body adapts and prepares itself for future workouts.
Keep going and never give up!
