By Edited Jan 20, 2016 3 4

Traditional Farming and Healthy Lifestyle

Traditional farming was the real way our ancestors cultivated crops, and has been practiced for thousands of years. It had helped them to get a good organic food, that had no pesticides and chemicals in them.

Recent studies shows that, there are actual benefits in consuming organic foods. A number of comparative studies reveals reduced nitrate content and less pesticide residues, but usu

ally higher levels of vitamin c and phenolic compounds (some phenols are germicidal and are used in formulating disinfectants) in organic plant products, as well as higher levels of omega-3 fatty acids and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA is marketed in dietary supplements for its supposed anticancer benefit) in milk from organically raised animals. Animal researches carried out so far have demonstrated positive effects of an organic diet on weight, growth, fertility indices and immune system.

Clearly the production of organic food have a positive impact on human health and the environment than the conventional production. They also have a higher antioxidant capacity. Animals raised organically are not given hormones and antibiotics for increasing the ability of animal growth by inhibiting the microbes in their gut. They are required to be grazed freely on organically managed pastureland rather than kept in a prison. Some organic milk producers have been cited for violation in organic standard, making it more important that you buy from local farms, where you know the people and operations are more transparent.

Conventional Farming's Effect on Farmers

The use of pesticides are mostly affected to farmers, their families and their community.

Because they live near the application of toxic pesticides, where the harm full substances drift, when it rains and water contamination's are common in both underground water and surface water. Unborn babies of the pregnant women are also exposed to the chemicals if their mothers came in contact with these harmful substances. Organic farming eliminates these enormous health hazard to the farmers, their families and our community due to the disuse of pesticides and other harm full chemicals.

Recent studies in humans shows that children representing anthroposophical lifestyle (including bio-dynamic and organic food) were found to have less allergies and a lower body weight compared with a group consuming conventionally produced food.

The soil where organic cultivation is practiced on will be healthy. The water will be pure and free of any unnatural chemicals. And we can use our food wastes to make compost for natural fertilizers. Which increases the food production, all without using any synthetic materials.

Ethics and morality are a part of organic life. Free range cattle eat indigenous grasses, exercise and fertilize all on their own accord and they support a healthy ecosystem. While in conventional farms, animals are tortured, abused and they are given foods they shouldn't be eating and chemicals they shouldn't be injected with. Being organic means going ethically and morally into the world of food and environmental awareness.

Organic farmers use biological controls that occur naturally. Green manure and naturally created fertilizers reinvigorates the soil. Whereas method of mono cropping and the use of unnatural fertilizers cost billions of dollars per year and they destroys the soil.

After a meal we should feel satisfied and content, not bloated and sick to our stomachs, for anyone who has eaten a meal from the fast food chains. They will feel tired and uncomfortable.

Food Not Lawns

Lawns are a waste of land and valuable resources, instead we should grow food in front of your home and it can be a good start for anyone who is interested in organic farming. First of all you should be dedicated, however It takes knowledge and energy to handle that king of lawn replacement. For starters, you should concentrate on small projects and work your way up. We should try to live in a sustainable way, whenever possible. Always having a knowledge from where we get our food is very important. What they spray in it and how they preserve it for months, you should investigate. Organic is best, weather you buy it or grow it and you can stop worrying about what chemicals that were used in the process.

Lawns require lots of water, covering over 40 million acres in the US. They take enormous amount of pesticides, fertilizers and gasoline to maintain, and they are completely useless and they don't support a healthy ecosystem. So its best to convert our lawn into a food garden instead. Growing some of our food makes us self sufficient. They even reduces the "carbon food" print of our diet and can save a lot money, if you do it the right way.

Going organic will create a sustainable earth. Avoiding multinational factories that use GMOs, pesticides, fertilizers and tons of resources enable a healthy and a greener habitable world when we are gone. Organic farming is definitely the right path for a healthy, reliable and sustainable future for us and our children.
