Benefits of Tea Tree Oil

Tea Tree oil has many healing properties that can attribute to its health benefits. The oil is made from the leaves of the tea tree. Tea tree oil has been dated back as far as Captain John Cook who was said to have named the tree himself. This herb is native to Australia.

Since tea tree oil is a stimulant it builds up the immune system. As it builds up the immune system, it also guards against infection. This herb is not for ingestion purposes. Tea tree oil penetrates the skin and can benefit the body in this way.

This herb has been known to fight against infection. It can be used for stings, bites and open wounds. You can apply tea tree oil with a cotton swab to the wound. For use with open wounds you can put a couple of drops on the wound for a couple times per day initially and then a couple times per week. You can also use tea tree oil to soothe bee stings and bug bites.

Since tea tree oil has expectorant properties this makes it a natural way to fight colds and bronchial problems. To use for a cold or bronchitis, dab a few drops around the nose. You can also put tea tree oil on your chest for a chest cold or put 5 drops in your vaporizer.

Tea tree oil has anti-fungal properties as well. This can be a wonderful remedy for athlete's foot as a topical oil to clear up the problem.

Believe it or not, this herb gives amazing results for dandruff. Throw away that expensive dandruff shampoo and just put 5-10 drops of tea tree oil in your regular shampoo.

If you're suffering from acne, you should try tea tree oil. You can put a few drops in your facial wash to help clear it up. For pimples, apply with a cotton ball but sparingly for a few days. Do not get it around or in your eyes.

You can use tea tree oil to remove a tick by applying tea tree oil directly on the tick. It will let go very quickly most often.

For arthritis and sore muscles, you can massage tea tree oil directly onto the area that is painful. Three or four drops of oil should do the trick.
