Though tea tree oil is most well known for skin, it also provides benefits for the hair as well.

Tea tree oil's best use for the hair is actually for the scalp. Tea tree oil provides relief to scalp irritation and dryness, and also treats and reduces dandruff and helps get rid of lice.

You can add a few drops of tea tree oil in your shampoo and/or conditioner, while massaging it into your scalp and leaving in for about 5 minutes before rinsing out.

Tea tree oil is very good at cleansing the scalp, and unclogs pores of leftover hair product residue and excess sebum. Because of this, using tea tree oil can actually help promote hair growth, as the hair follicles are able to breathe.

Tea tree oil can also be used daily, by massaging into the scalp. For the maximum effect, try leaving it in overnight and washing out in the morning. Also, adding other essential oils to tea tree oil can give even more benefits to your hair, for example, coconut, olive, or argan oil.

Though tea tree oil can be beneficial to the hair, it is most commonly known for being used on the skin. It is best known for reducing redness in the skin.

Also, tea tree oil can be used for treating sunburns and minor skin irritations, especially when combined with aloe vera gel or witch hazel. Tea tree oil can also be applied to the face as an overnight solution to treating acne and help to even skin tone.

One of the many benefits of tea tree oil, it is also an effective oil to use when it comes to razor burn and ingrown hair. Both these skin problems can be very painful especially when having to be rubbed against clothing. By applying tea tree oil after a shower and shave, it can be a very effective cooling and soothing after shave.

I think it's better to use tea tree oil with water as raw use of it directly on the skin can be little harsh. I pour a few drops of it along with peppermint oil in bathing water, which gives a cooling and relaxing shower and it also leaves the skin less oily and clear.

Have been considering using tea tree oil for my dandruff problem, after reading your article I think I should just give it a try! Because if it's not working for my dandruff there many other uses for it, great!
