Bertie Bott's Every Flavored Beans

What exactly are Bertie Bott's Every Flavored Beans? They are the jelly beans from the Harry Potter series. They come in all sorts of good flavors such as lemon, brown sugar, and pear but they also come in a variety of disgusting flavors. Flavors such as vomit, rotten eggs, and ear wax for example. The twist is that you never know what flavor your bean will be before you eat it. A complete list of availble flavors can be found at the Harry Potter Wiki.

To capitalize on movie merchandise, the Jelly Belly company made real life Bertie Bott Beans and sold them as Harry Potter Jelly Beans. Just like the jelly beans in the movie, you never knew what flavor you were going to get. You see, the gross beans had a twin delicious bean. For example, a pear flavored bean was identical in appearance as a vomit bean. some of the other gross flavors over the years have been: black pepper, rotten egg, ear wax, grass, pickle, and even baby wipes. Whoever developed the formula for these nasty beans did a fantastic job because they truly are disgusting.

Even though Harry Potter Jelly Beans are extremely popular, it appears that Jelly Belly ahve since discontinued making them and replaced them with what they call Bamboozled Beans. Bamboozled Beans carry on the tradition of including gross beans with delicious ones, and they even turned it into a game. Each box of Bamboozled Beans comes with a game spinner. You make a spin and whatever color bean the spinner lands on you have to eat. If you're lucky, you get the good kind. An unlucky pick and you may find yourself spitting out a nasty bean and running for a drink of water.

I am a huge fan of Jelly Belly Jelly Beans and would always keep some Harry Potter beans around to dissuade people from eating the real jelly beans. You could also use them as stocking stuffers and party favors, kids seem to get a kick out of eating gross stuff anyway. You could also give them as a gag gift to an adult, they never read the package before they eat something anyway.
