Best Ellipticals Under $1000 for 2013

By Edited Aug 29, 2016 0 0

What is the best elliptical for under $1000? Did you know that it's possible to get one of these great exercise machines for under a grand? If you buy the right brand they should last you for years and years, actually saving you money in gym fees. An elliptical is also a great alternative to working out at the gym because you can use them right from your home or even your workplace. I will list some cheap ellipticals below that are also high quality and will last!

What is an Elliptical and Why Is it Better Than Treadmills?

I personally love this machine better than treadmills because it's easier to use and easier on your knees and legs - you get just as good of a workout with less stress!

*Elliptical vs. Treadmill - Which Is Better?*

Running and jogging puts a lot of stress on your joints but using an elliptical solves this problem. By putting the resistance higher, you can even get a better workout than from a treadmill - but none of the pain on your joints.

The most popular brand is the PRECOR which was patented in 2004 by a man named Larry Miller, although earlier versions appeared in the 1990's.

While some brands sell for upwards of $5,000, you can get a good one for less than $1,000.

In my opinion this is one of the best exercise pieces of equipment that you can get for your home. I've found that ellipticals are not only safer but I find myself burning more calories on them, too.

*Popular Elliptical Under $700 - The Horizon Fitness EX-59 Trainer

Another good elliptical under $700 is the Schwinn 431 Series. My favorite part of this one is the blue backlit LCD display, which allows you to track your progress with Recovery Mode, Results Mode, and BMI. It also comes with a nice cupholder for water.

This one is also very smooth and quiet so it shouldn't make too much noise at home. It's high quality so it should last at least 5 years but it also comes with a 15 year frame warranty and a 2 year parts warranty.

Product features include:

  • Multiple workout programs, including heart-rate controlled, custom, and fitness test
  • Workout Programs Include: Manual, Profile, Calorie Goal, Time Trial, Heart Rate Control, Fitness Test, Custom

Best Elliptical Under $200 - Sunny Magnetic Trainer

Did you know you can actually get one of these machines for less than $200? While the quality will be a little less than the other ones mention, it's still a good deal. If you don't have big bucks to spend, it's something to consider.

Take the Sunny Magnetic Trainer for instance. This provides the basics and works fine - and is just $150!

The weight capacity is 220lb. so take note, and the strides are shorter than other ellipticals. So if you are a shorter person or someone of average height and weight, this could be the one for you.

Best Elliptical Under $100

Still don't have the money? You should consider getting an Elliptical Trainer instead.

Stamina in Motion Trainer

What is an elliptical trainer? It's a foot pedal only machine that simulates an actual elliptical. It works great and fits in very small spots so it can be used anywhere at home or the office.

So it's very portable, works and it's also less than $100! If you don't have the time to go to the gym several times a week or if you are going on vacation and need to work out, I think this is the perfect idea.

Another Portable Elliptical Machine - With Built-In Resistance Training!

Sunny twister Stepper

The Sunny Health & Fitness Twister Stepper is basically the stamina in-motion trainer with resistance.

The resistance on this machine is adjustable, coming with exercise bands work arms, chest, back, and shoulders for a total body workout.

It also comes with an onboard computer with LCD display, showing you the total count, time, calories burned, and rep count.

We're going even cheaper now - this one is an elliptical less than $60

Get in Shape at Home for Cheap and Fast!

Hopefully now you can see that getting in shape doesn't have to be expensive, joining a gym for over $100 a month. These products will actually pay for themselves over time with the amount of money you'll be saving.

If you want to know which exercise at the gym will blast the most calories away, look no further. If you ever look at the calories burned on a bike, a treadmill or a stairmaster, the elliptical always burns the most. And the elliptical offers the most workout variations of all the machines mentioned, allowing you to do hills, weight loss, glutes, fitness test, etc.

While the Precor still dominates the field as the number 1 elliptical, you don't have to shell out thousands of dollars to buy one (they cost upwards of $4,000+). These options I've listed are all ellipticals under $1000 that will get the job done just fine.
