Using herbal teas has been very helpful to many people who experience irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Dealing with IBS can be a very embarrassing and annoying medical condition. The Chinese have long used herbs to treat a variety of illnesses and ailments including IBS. Here are some traditional teas that may help you out with your IBS.

Chamomile Teas

Chamomile Tea has been proven to help relax the bowel spams that can occur with IBS. Drinking a few cups of warm Chamomile Teas each day may help to alleviate some of the bloating associated with IBS.

Peppermint Teas

If you have diarrhea IBS then peppermint teas may be the best IBS tea for you. Peppermint teas contains oils that help to alleviate many gastro-intestinal symptoms of IBS, however it may cause you to have heartburn or acid reflux. Peppermint teas work great to help alleviate symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome, however it may also cause heartburn and acid reflux in people who are per-dispotioned to these symptoms.

Fennel Tea

Fennel tea is often used by IBS sufferers to help get rid of some of the bloating and gas caused by IBS. Fennel tea may or may not help you out with your IBS, but it is definitely worth a try as many people with IBS will attest to the usefulness of drinking fennel tea to get ride of IBS symptoms.

Anise Tea

Anise tea has a unique licorice tasting flavor and has been used for thousands of years to help alleviate many gastro-intestinal ailments. Anise tea works great as a laxative, so if you have diarrhea Irritable Bowel Syndrome then you may want to limit your consumption of Anise tea. If you have firmer stools then Anise tea may be the best herbal tea to fight your IBS conditions.

Mix IBS Teas

Many people with IBS that like to use tea will get on a schedule where they may drink peppermint tea in the morning, Anise tea in the late afternoon, and then have a cup of fennel tea before bed. If you experience success with using teas for IBS symptoms then you will also tend to have a better overall feeling of health. Herbal teas are not a miracle remedy, however when used they can be of great assistance in helping alleviate IBS symptoms.
