Best Home Gym Under $500

Bowflex PR1000 Vs Best-Fitness MG20

In my honest opinion -- if you are looking to get a good quality home gym for under $500 -- you pretty much have two options either 1) the Bowflex PR1000 or 2) the Best Fitness BFMG20 Sportsman. Both these home multi-gyms have their own unique features and specifications (which will be discussed in more detail below), and will hence appeal to different people. However, both are very well regarded and popular amongst their respective customers and not surprisingly there is a pretty good reason for this... they offer real value for money.

PR1000 Home Gym by Bowflex -- (Best Price: $449.00)

Bowflex PR1000 Home Gym(114006)
The Bowflex PR1000 provides you with a full extensive body workout -- right from 'shoulder presses' to a 'seated leg press' -- with over 30 registered exercises assigned, at a resistance level which can be performed from as little as 5 pound to that of a max of 210 pounds (but can be upgraded from 210 to 310 and then again from 310 to 410 pounds -- with 4 x 50 pound rods, roughly an extra $180 to max it out). Hence, the PR1000 is suitable for both an absolute beginner who is aiming to get fit or to someone who is even at an more advanced level of fitness, trying to make some more gains.

Obviously, a home gym under $500 -- that has that much to offer you, is a home gym that has got to be worth considering. However, don't just take my word for it on how good it is --  be sure to check out all the positive reviews surrounding it too. On Amazon.com for example, it scores an average of 4.4 stars out of 5 stars from a 112 reviews (as of 29/09/2012) -- making it the best rated home multi-gym listed, and is consistently praised with comments such as "I love it. Lots of exercises you can do (both muscular and cardio) and you can really feel it." and "Overall rating - The Bow flex pr1000 definitely is worth the money. The machine is well made and will do its job."

BFMG20 Sportsman Gym by Best Fitness -- (Best Price: $399.99)

Best Fitness MFG20 Sportsman Gym
The BFMG20 (of course) also provides you with a full extensive body workout -- with a registered resistance stack of 150 pounds (however it can't fortunately be upgraded), and hence offers a decent amount of versatility (however, fails to mention a specified amount of registered exercises -- but it is obviously clear it won't let you down in this regard). Moreover, it is incredibly 'compact' (well for a multi-home gym anyway) -- measuring by only 47 inches wide, 78 inches in height and 64 inches in depth and can hence fit into most basements, 'low ceiling' spare rooms etc. hence ideal for those who are rather space conscious. In all, this is a multi-gym probably aimed at someone at the beginner to intermediate range, who is looking to maintain a good standard of general fitness and strength.

In all, it is clear from both the price (under $400) as well as the features listed (and overall 'solid build') that the BFMG20, offers a lot of bang for your buck. And I am not the only one who admires the BFMG20 -- there are a lot of people out there who agree, with more than 75% of Amazon reviewers rating it either a 5 or 4 star rating (as of 29/09/2012). Along with it being covered in reviews with positive remarks such as "This machine does just what you need as a home-fitness gym. It is compact and both my wife and I find it great to maintain tone without wanting huge bulk." and "I'm very satisfied with the BFMG20 Best Fitness home gym. I've been using it for about a month now and I'm very impressed with the quality and function." -- which in all, sums up the general view of the BFMG20 rather nicely.

Which home gym under $500 would you buy, the Bowflex PR1000 Home Gym or the Best Fitness BFMG20 Sportsman Gym and why? Please do let me in the comments section -- just below. Moreover, if you have any specific questions, remarks or concerns about either the article 'the Best Home Gyms under $500' or about either 'home gym' model specifically in regards to its technical aspects, specifications and features, please be sure to make them in the comments section also.
