Sometimes finding a good lip stain can be more difficult than it should be. In theory, you should be able to just pick out the color that you like and buy it. And when you use it, the lip stain should just simply work. Unfortunately, it is not all that simple. Am I right, ladies? The pencil might be too dry to use it comfortably. Or you might find a brand that you like and it only comes in limited colors. Or, you might get lucky and find that perfect lip stain, only to find out that it just does not last long enough when you put it on.

What I Look For In A Lip Stain

For me, I tend to gravitate toward beauty products that are all natural or at least free of parabens and other toxins. Ever since I learned that a lot of cosmetics are made from petroleum, I have been very careful in selecting my beauty products because I am not a big fan of the idea of willingly putting petroleum on my face. Of course, with the natural beauty products you usually end up with a higher price than with standard brands like Revlon and Cover Girl. But what is an ingredient conscious girl to do? Unfortunately, the options are to pay the premium price or use the toxic product. So, I pay the premium price. Typical ingredients in the natural beauty products include things like jojoba seeds and natural oils, like peppermint oil.

My Favorite Natural Lip Stain 2013 - Tarte LipSurgence Natural Lip Tint

After trying out a lot of different brands, I have come to love the Tarte LipSurgence Natural Lip Tint. It comes in around 10 different colors, which is really more than enough for me. Mostly the colors are your basic color tones, which is perfect. The natural ingredients are advertised on the packaging to increase lip moisture content “by 6000%” with use, but I do not know about that. What I can tell you is that lips are soft after using it cause the lip stain is not dry at all. I actually think this lip stain gives my lips that plump, kissable look that people like Kim Kardashian have. Now, if only it could give me her body too! I love that this Tarte lip stain lasts through the entire work day as well. I do not even have to reapply it after lunch or after having my fifth cup of coffee at work. It does have a high price, but I think it is definitely worth it.
