When you're trying to get to sleep & all you can hear is a loud fan buffeting away in the background --  which keeps you awake right into the night, it can literally seem like one of the most irritating things in the world. Especially when you know if you turn it off, you are going to be overcome with heat which will also keep you awake. Literally, a no win situation.

However, there are fans out there that can solve such an issue with i) a smooth airflow to keep you cool ii) yet do so at whisper quiet noise levels, as to not keep you awake. Below, is a showcase of some of the quietest & most powerful fans available -- and hopefully from the range you will find the perfect model for you or at the least give you a much clearer & better idea as to what you are after.

The Brezza II by Ozeri

This highly rated table fan has been aerodynamically engineered to recieve the "lowest dB rating" due to its dual oscillating motors being re-configured with acoustic engeering practices -- this has allowed the noise levels produced to be kept to a complete minimum. However, despite this it is still powerful (with selective settings) to keep an entire room cool (with vertical & horizontal 90 degree osciallation) - with its settings easily accessed through the front panel. The fan is compact, hence won't cause any issues with storage & looks pretty stylish too. For the price, this fan basically ticks your boxes -- it is deadly silent & will more than adequately keep you & your bedroom cool.

The VU2531U1 (Table) Fan by Rowenta

This newly released fan is claimed to be Rowenta's "quietest" yet "most powerful" desk fan -- whereby it operates on a sound level as low as 38 dB (which is comparable to whispers you would get at a library) -- so if you are after pretty much a 'silent' fan you should certainly give the VU2531U1 a look at. Moreover, as stated it is also very powerful being able shift up to 1,695 cubic feet of air per minute -- which in turn is a very powerful airflow heading your way (when focused) -- but it does turn on a 90 degree oscillation, so you will basically be able to keep as cool as you would deem comfortable. Given, that it is so new -- it hasn't got many reviews & 'backing' but this is a fan that you should definitely have a look at.

The 3x Tower Fan by Ozeri

I also wanted to add a tower fan into the showcase, as some may prefer these & this 3x tower fan from Ozeri is by far my favourite for quiet fans. It has been fitted with a very unique "passive noise reduction technology" (which is basically just specially shaped fan blades that isolate & dampen soundwaves within the air flow) - which allow it to be almost silent when turned on (even at the higher settings). But, this fan also has a lot more to offer too -- such as the three unique fans that can be all altered to specific settings individually -- conducted either via remote control or its touch control pad. It has also has a 7.5 hour programmable system to alter the settings within every 30 minute period. Moreover, it also very much looks the part too -- a modern, sleek design (particularly like its glass case base). A tower fan that offers awesome value for money.

The AM01 Table Fan by Dyson

This is pretty much your premium - top of the range - state of the art fan, the Dyson AM01. A very unique fan that you have likely to have heard about -- it operates without blades (which provides a whole bunch of benefits by its seldom e.g. far easier to clean, safer around kids etc.) & due to the manner it works i.e through Air Multiplier technology, it makes it very quiet during operation (coupled with the acoustic engineering it has recieved).

Moreover, the quality of the airflow is what sets it apart - through the process of entrainment it gathers around 5 litres of air per second and amplifies a ultra smooth (non-choppy, like that with traditional bladed fans -- which can be irritating on the face etc.)  airflow that is distributed towards the user. It works on a 90 degree osciallation & 10 deegree touch tilt mechanism to alter the wby the user to get the desired direction. Granted it is expensive for a fan, but what an awesome fan you do get in return -- certainly looks pretty cool & futuristic too (also available in a silver, white mesh design).
