What are the Best Quiet Tower Fans?

There is almost nothing more irritating than hearing a buffeting tower fan going off in the background whilst you are hard at work -- trying to focus in on a task that requires complete concentration (or even worse still - trying to get to sleep!). However, there are a select amount of fans out there -- that have built-in sound dampening technology & acoustic engineering to reduce noise levels and improve sound quality. So  in essence they operate, pretty much in silence -  this hence allows you to both keep you cool but also work  without them constantly bothering you (or from keeping you awake). Below, is a range of the very best and quietest tower fans available on the market that have been selected due to obviously i) being incredibly quiet (practically noiseless) and ii) being very well rated as actual fans.

The Ozeri 3x Tower Fan (44") By Ozeri

Out of the range of the super quiet tower fans on offer -- this model has got to be the quietest tower fan of the bunch. The '3x' uses a unique and sophisticated passive noise reduction technology, where it has specially molded 'canted' fan blades which firstly minimize the generation of sound waves as well as being able to isolate the sounds of the airflow itself. If you were wondering why it is called 3x -- it due to it utilising 3 independent fans within the system -- where each can be controlled (via the base or its remote control) at 3 different fan speeds (giving you a range of 9 cooling levels altogether -- to get your optimized & desired cooling airflow).

It also hosts a few great extra features too such as the 'programmed timer' - which allows you to program what airflow speeds (and temps) to function on at different times e.g. at 10:00 Pm, you can make it go to sleep mode where it will provide a comforting and relaxing smooth air flow and operate on a 'whisper quiet' 90 degree oscillation to help you get to sleep easier. In all, the 3x, is a very highly rated model & is also my personal favourite.

The 2554 (42") Wind Curve Fan By Lasko

Another very popular and respected model that is well re-known for being an ultra quiet tower fan -- is the 2554 wind curve fan that is designed and engineered by the hugely reputable (certainly in the heating and cooling market) Lasko. This model is ideal for a work place scenario as it can shift a huge amount of air -- spreading it right across a room through its uniquely designed profile that works in tandem with the featured 90 degree oscillation.

Furthermore, a particularly big plus with this model is that it also comes with air ionizer technology - helping to get rid of any bad smells that may be lurking in the air. Also, because it is so compact & sleek it barely takes up any space so is great just to stick in the corner of a room or just next to a door -- and it won't get in the way. For the price, this model does pack a tonne of value in fairness -- and so is definitely worth checking out.

The Ultra (42") Wind Fan - Adjustable Oscillating Tower Fan By Ozeri

Another tower fan by Ozeri. Another great low dB tower fan -- producing 'noiseless air flow' (where noise levels have been registered approximately at around 32 dB, which is about the same that you would record at a not so busy library)! This model is particularly (compact, stream-line) stylish and can easily suit (and add to) a range of different room decor (having originally been designed for 5 - star resorts abroad). It is programmable to "3 air flow patterns" to promote relaxation and also comes with a fitted LED screen to dictate what the room temperature is, the setting it is on etc. (and like the '3x' it comes with a remote controller (trust me, this will come in very useful -- especially if you plan to use it in the bedroom)  & is time programmable).

Ozeri 3X Vs Ozeri Ultra

Which to buy -- the ultra or 3x? Although, I really like the Lasko model. For me, it is definitely a toss up between the two ozeri units -- and in fact they are actually very similar, both are very quiet (although the 3x is slightly quieter), both have a range of great features (remote control, programmable timer etc.) -- but I do think the 3x looks a bit 'cooler' (no pun intended). So on that basis the 3x (as said above) wins my vote. What about you?

Which model will you buy and why?
