Best Robotic Vacuums for Carpets 2014

By Edited Aug 8, 2015 0 0

What are the Best Rated Robotic Vacuums for Carpet Cleaning?

The following range of robotic vacuum cleaners have been selected on their premise as a quality robot vacuum overall (where they i. host numerous practical features, ii. are well regarded by their users & iii. offer decent 'value for money' etc.) as well as particularly excelling in the aspect of vacuuming carpets. So from this brief and objective showcase, you should come across the ideal robot vacuum cleaner for cleaning your carpets -- or at least a better understanding & concept (e.g. a particular feature or specification) that you want from your robot vacuum.

The 770 Roomba Vacuum Cleaning Robot By iRobot

Dimensions: 48.3 x 12.7 x 54.6 cm| Weight: 6.3 kg | Warranty: 1 year | Battery Life: Just Under 2 Hours | Charge Time: 3 hours | Remote Control: Yes | Color: Black |

The 770 is iRobot's most popular (best-selling) vacuum model in their entire range and its pretty simple to see why... it offers awesome value for money. It utilises the unique (& patented) '3 stage cleaning system' in conjunction with the updated 'AeroVac' (series 2) -- this allows it to effectively pick up a huge amount of dirt, debris, dust, dog & cat hairs etc. from all floor types (with it self adjust its brush bar type specifically for low pile and medium pile carpets when compared to vacuuming a hard floor -- this in turn allows for a more optimal clean).

To navigate its way around cleaning a room (so it knows where it has cleaned and where it has to clean) it uses Dirt Detect (series 2) technology, this also allows it to identify particularly dirty areas (e.g. where there is a large amount of pet hair for instance) where it will perform a 'persistent clean' -- where it will move over the spot with several runs (like you would with a normal vacuum cleaner, going back and forth over it).

It also hosts an array of additional features too, such as on-board scheduling program (so you can ask it to perform 7 times in a week), a remote control (so you don't have to get up to alter settings), virtual walls (to keep it within a certain room) and so on. It has to be said, this model is my personal favorite and what I regard as being the best value robot vacuum cleaner for carpets -- where although a little pricy, it really does what you want from it.

The XV Signature Pro (Pet & Allergy) Robot Vacuums By Neato

Dimensions: 12.5 x 13 x 4 inches | Weight: 8.6 lbs | Warranty: 1 Year | Battery Life: Just Under 1.5 hours | Charge Time: 2 to 3 hours | Remote Control: No | Color: Black |

This model is the latest release from Neato (iRobot's main competitor) and it is what they claim to be their most powerful & intelligent model yet, that offers "professional grade cleaning" -- and to be fair it really is a great little robot vacuum. It utilises an advanced laser guided navigation system (found to even edge that of the Roomba vacuums) that allows it to meticulously calculate where it needs to head next and operates on a room to room basis (and due to its 'square-edged' like shape, it can get right up to the edge of the skirting within rooms).

Also, as it is the 'pro' version it comes with the versatile brush system' which along with the Pro's new & reconfigured motor system enables it to offer pick up literally any debris, dander on any floor type (particularly soft flooring i.e carpets). Moreover, the filters installed allow it to capture & prevent a high amount of dust and allergens particles from being expelled into the air (hence particularly recommended for those with breathing difficulties). By no means don't underestimate this robot vacuum -- it will do a very decent job of vacuuming your carpets and you should at least give it a test run.

The Roomba 630 Vacuum Cleaning Robot By iRobot

Dimensions: 43.2 x 12.7 x 45.7 cm | Weight: 6.4 kg | Warranty: 1 year | Battery Life: Under 1.5 Hours | Charge Time: 3 Hours  | Remote Control: No | Color: Grey |

This model is significantly more affordable than the other two (and is predecessor generation to the 700's range i.e it is the 600's) and although it doesn't quite come with all the features (bells and whistles) -- it should certainly make the list as it will still do a very good job of vacuuming your carpets. It still possesses a lot of the fundamental aspects that the 770 does such as the advanced three stage cleaning system with it being able to automatically adapt to clean carpets (as well as hardwood, tile and other flooring) & a distinct ability to pulling up hair and depositing them straight into its bin. In all, this model is for those who are after pure value for money - it will do a great job of all your flooring (including carpets, particularly low to mid pile) but doesn't come with most of the 'extra' features & specialties (but you will save over $150 plus in the process).

The above models integrated the factor of 'value' (i.e the maximum quality return with relation to its price tag), however if you are after the absolute best robot vacuum cleaners for carpets -- then you check out the iRobot Roomba 780 and the Roomba 790 units (particularly if you liked the look of the 770 model mentioned first), although they are pretty expensive -- they are regarded as pretty much the ultimate robot vacuums (so far).
