Best Samsung Smartphones for Spring and Summer 2012

By Edited Oct 15, 2016 0 0

Samsung continues to dominate the smartphone market in 2012. It is launching upgraded and different versions of phones such as the Galaxy Note, the upcoming Galaxy S3 and new tablet/phone hybrids such as Galaxy Tab 2.

In this article we are going to take a look at the Samsung smartphone that are going to be available at the start of, or launched during, Spring and Summer 2012.

Galaxy SIII (S3)

The Samsung Galaxy SIII (S3) is definitely the most eagerly anticipated phone on this list. The previous generations of the Samsung Galaxy S phones have been some of the most popular and best Android phones available on the market. The Samsung Galaxy S3 is expected to be launched in April/May and much of its specification has already been leaked.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is expected to have an updated version of the Mali-400MP GPU architecture that runs the current Galaxy phones. It appeared (temporarily) on a GPU benchmarking site which puts it performance at higher than any other phone available now – only being beaten by the current Apple iPad 3 which of course isn’t a smartphone.

The S3 will be the most anticipated Samsung launch this year, probably only eclipsed in a comparison of all phones by the launch of the Apple iPhone “5” or more likely, “the new iPhone”.

Galaxy Beam

The new Samsung Galaxy Beam will probably be on a more interesting Samsung smartphones launched around spring and summer 2012. It is a normal smart phone with one interesting twist. The Beam has at its core a 4-inch LCD screen, 1 GHz cortex–A9 dual core processor, 768 MB of RAM and its killer feature–a built-in projector. The projector is capable of displaying images as large as 50 inches from a 2 m distance. The Samsung Galaxy Beam is already available for pre-order in Europe for around €525 or £430. Although the smart phone itself might not be killer in terms of its specification: the presence of a projector will fill a niche somewhere such as anyone wishing to make an impromptu presentation or display a film/video clip.

Galaxy Note

The Galaxy note has been another successful smart phone from Samsung. It launched with a 5.3 inch screen late last year and has become a bit of a love or hate it device. Some people think that this phone is more of a tablet with its 5+ inch screen, as some think it's the ultimate smartphone is a large screen allows the use of a stylus and other methods which can boost productivity. My thoughts and the Galaxy note that it's a great phone although a little too big for my use–but those who reminisce about wanting more of a PDA like smartphone experience may really enjoyed the Samsung Galaxy Note.

Samsung SCH-I200 Jasper

This new phone from Samsung has started to show up on various news websites. Its name was supposed worked out when Bluetooth SIG listed the device which was tracked down to a GLBenchmark entry. It is anticipated to run Android 4.0 with a 1.5 GHz processor, Qualcomm's snapdragon S4 processor, making it one of the fastest devices on the market. Although it was also rumoured that the display had only in 800 x 480 resolution–which would not be expected to be found in a high-end phone. The Samsung SCH-I200 could be a really interesting phone from Samsung, although it may also just be another model in the Galaxy lineup.

Which Samsung smartphone should you buy?

There are a lot of Samsung smartphone to choose from in spring/summer 2012. The most interesting is definitely the Samsung Galaxy S3 which is one of the few real competitors to the iPhone. The Galaxy Beam will also fill a specific niche and it's an interesting concept as desktop computers and mobile technology combine–think hooking up a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse to construct your own on the go 27 inch computer.
