By Edited May 8, 2015 0 0

What is the Top Rated Steam Mop for Hardwood Flooring?

Are you on the search for the best steam mop for hardwood floors? If so, you have the found the right place. You'll find three high quality steam mops that have been carefully selected based on their top quality cleaned finishes for when it comes to cleaning your hardwood flooring -- as well as ticking all the boxes for aspects you look for in a good cleaning machine. Let's go right ahead and check out the best steam mops for hardwood floors.

#1 Bissell PowerFresh Steam Mop (1940)

This steam powered mop is a best selling and incredibly well loved (rating of 88%) cleaning machine and it is easy to see why. It offers an excellent cleaning performance (particularly on wooden based flooring as well as tile and grout) and comes with a range of clever additional features aspects. For instance, the SmartSet steam control which is basically a dial to vary the intensity of the clean -- so you be economical in dealing with "light" or "heavy" cleaning messes.

As said, it performs to an excellent standard in both the cleaned shiny finish look for your hardwood floors as well as 'actual' cleaning where it "eliminates 99.9% of germs and bacteria". You will also notice it has a built in scrubber which it can be rid of stick & dried on messes (particularly what wood floors are prone to ) twice as fast as the next leading steam mops. In all, an awesome steam operated mop that is also surprisingly affordable at under $100.

#2 Hoover TwinkTank Disinfecting Steam Mop

Another best selling and awesome hard floor cleaner that takes on a slightly different (yet effective) take on a steam-mop -- the Hoover TwinTank. The twin tank refers to the fact that you can clean your hard wood flooring with just steam or you can use the added Hoover Steam Plus solution to get an even more "thorough clean". It is the latter option, that allows it to perform so well on hard floors -- and you will find in most cases (as proven by Hoover) to "outclean" other steam mops with a 99.99% removal rate of harmful bacteria.

Hence, cleaning wise it doesn't get much better than this (not to mention it is very affordable at under 100 dollars). But, it doesn't stop there, it is completely safe to be used around the home, has an extra long cable 30 ft cord & is particularly effective in removing ground in dirt and stains from your hardwood flooring, simply adjust the dial in favor of the Hoover Cleaning solution. In all, it is definitely worth checking out (over 1,000 positive reviews can't really be wrong).

#3 Shark Steam & Spray Professional

Also known as the SK460 steam professional this model is a lot less popular than the two above, but by no means is it any less good (very underrated in my opinion). I wanted to include it, as it has been pretty much purposefully built for just hard & wood flooring. It offers three different levels of intelligent electronic steam control (whereby it will provide you with the optimal level of steam for hardwood flooring, rather than the standard steam operation option #1 & #2 offer you) and has a deep cleaning mode to sanitize wood.

Moreover, unlike the models above this can operate without a cord when on the "spray only mode" -- which  is highly effective in breaking down greasy, tough dirt stain and sticky messes. A bit more expensive than the others, (still under 200 dollars), but will result in a better overall clean, if you intend to use it for just hard wooden flooring.

Which Hardwood Steam Mop Would You Get?

As you can see each steam powered mop featured performs extremely well on hardwood flooring and you wouldn't really be making a mistake by going with any of them, however it is clear that option #1 stands out as being 'the' best steam mop for hard wood floors. Do you disagree? Which model would/will you buy & why (let me know in the comments)?

Also, if you have any questions or concerns regarding the overview of the best steam mops for hardwood floors then please make them in the comments section below (e.g. if it is regarding any of the particular models that have been featured above & you would like to know more or seek some specific advice) and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
