Best Times To Buy Everything At Deep Discounted Prices

Believe it or not, there are certain days of the weeks and times of the year when it is possible to purchase just about anything you want at deep discounted prices. Everything from department stores to automobile dealerships have to move out old inventory to create space for new inventory. Knowing the precise timing of when these places make this change, can save you hundreds if not thousands of dollars. Did you know that you have a better chance of making a return of merchandise more successful and without complications if you do your return any day of the week at 10:00 a.m.? Well, it's true! The reason for this is there are more sales people readily available to assist customers. There are also more experienced staff who work the first shift during the early daytime hours. If a staff member is unable to make the return without any complications, there is a better chance of being able to have a more experienced staff member make your return successful.

The best time of the year to purchase linens and bedding is the month of January. A tradition started in 1878 by John Wanamaker, a department store concepts pioneer, of January white sales, still exists with many retailers today.

Furniture can be purchased at discounted rates in January and July. Why? They are trying to make room for their new inventory which arrives in February and August.

Toys can be purchased at deep discounted prices during the months of October and November. New toys often arrive to retailers in the month of September. Retailers are known for waiting two weeks after the new shipments arrive and then lower the prices on the toys to try and top their competitors. Retailers are also gearing up for the holiday sales during the months of October and November.

Sports equipment can be purchased at the end of the season at discounted prices. Spring is an excellent time to shop for sports equipment at second hand stores since many people clean their houses and get rid of unwanted items.

Shoes can also be purchased at deep discounted prices in the spring. Many athletic shoe companies sponsor charity walks and races in April. They want the people participating in these walks and races to wear their shoes, therefore, offering them at discounted prices.

Bicycles stores hold sales after the holiday season in January. They are trying to make room for new inventory they expect to receive in February and March. Many great sales on bicycles can be found during this time of year. Many police departments also hold auctions and sales on the bicycles they have accumulated during the year. You can expect to pay 10 to 25 percent of the retail price for bikes. Check with your local police department to inquire about their next auction.

Show tickets can usually be purchased at discounted rates a few hours before the show starts. Their main goal is to fill seats and have a full venue for each show. You should also be prepared not to see the show since all the seats may be sold out.

Clothing can be purchased for much less if you wait about six weeks after you see something you want at one of the larger retailers since this is the time it takes for the item to go on sale. From the time the items are first introduced in the store and you have waited the six weeks, go to the store on Thursday night. This is usually the first day of the sale.

If you are in the market for a new car or truck, go to the dealerships on the last Tuesday or Wednesday of the month since they are trying to meet their month end sales quota. Early afternoon is a good time to do business with an automobile dealer since it is usually a slower time for business. More attention from sales staff, increases the chances of a dealership dropping the price further. If you can wait on a car or truck and do not need it right away, the best time of the year to buy at discounted prices is in the fall. September through December can save you 10 to 20 percent on the previous years models. December is the best month since it is the end of the year and they need to make room the for new inventory.

Go to restaurants on Tuesdays since this is when many of them have the best deals. The reason for this is this is the one day of the week where restaurants are not as crowded and business is slower.Restaurants usually receive their food orders early in the week so you are likely getting fresher product on earlier in the week.

If you do not mind last years models with electronics, then shop for deep discounted items during April as well as towards the end of the summer. You can save 20 to 30 percent during these specified times.

Grocery stores do not view Monday as the start of the week. They instead begin their week on Wednesdays since this is the first day their sales ads appear. Shop on Wednesdays to get last weeks inventory at cheaper prices.
