What are the Best Living Room Tower Fans?

If you are looking to get hold of a quality tower fan for your living room -- you will need it to tick several boxes such as: i) does it look good (will its design 'fit in' to your lounge decor)?, ii) will it actually do provide a decent air flow and keep you cool?, iii) also will it operate at whisper quiet levels (as to not distract yourself from relaxing or watching TV)? and perhaps most importantly iv) does it offer great bang for its buck? The following fans have been selected on the basis of ticking all these boxes (in most cases surpassing them) as well as being able to offer much more -- along with every fan unit being highly regarded by its users.

The Air Multiplier Tower Fan (AM02) By Dyson

This has to be my favourite tower fan for a living room (from the entire range) -- the bladeless AM02 fan. Through Dyson's unique air multiplier technology (utilising the process of inducement and entrainment) it is able to operate without exposed blades, this in turn provides several advantages over a bladed fan (such as being practically silent in operation, very easy to clean, safe to be used around children as well as just generally making a room feel more spacious and open etc.) with the main one being that it produces an ultra smooth, constant & cooling air flow (whereas compared with bladed fans -- they produce a choppy irritating and buffeted air flow).

The AM02 is able to draw up to 9.51 gallons of air per second and then can amplify this by up to 14 times (you can control the air flow exactly - as its fully variable - through the 'dimmer switch control' which is based at both the base panel and via its magnetic remote control) and it precisely, efficiently & optimally distributes this around a room with a 90 degree 'gradual' oscillation. In all, this is a beautifully designed & manufactured fan that has been very cleverly thought out (for me it is 'the' best tower fan for the living room).

The 3X Fan (w/ Passive Noise Reduction) By Ozeri

Dimensions: 45.8 x 13.8 x 6.5 inches | Weight: Under 12 lbs |

Possibly the most suitable of the collection given its design (looking very sleek & modern esque, with a fitted glass circular base -- that reminds me somewhat of standing speaker) as well as it hosting a range of unique features such as: i) its 'passive noise reduction technology' (with specially molded and canted fan blades) that allows it to function on pretty much silent levels-- less than 50 dB -- ( hence being propped as one of the quietest fans on the market), ii) its 3 by 3 (three independent fans with three separate air flow settings) technology which allows for a highly optimized & customized cooling air flow -- all of which is controlled via its LED screen or iii) through its 'extended range' remote as well as offering a '7.5 hours pre-programmed air flow patterns feature.

So with a price of under $150 -- this tower fan truly offers exceptional value for money (in essence being a premium fan for a budget price) as well as a sound customer service that is offered by Ozeri. No wonder then it is the amongst the top rated and best selling models out of all tower fans.

The 2551 Wind Curve (platinum) By Lasko

Dimensions: 13 x 13 x 42 inches | Weight: Under 11 lbs |

This is a model I wanted to include for those who are on a bit more of a restricted budget and are looking for a real bargain and this... the 2551 from Lasko is probably the best tower fan under $50 (you will really be struggling to find anything that even compares to this for such a price).

It's tall and wind 'curved' profile works in unison with its smooth oscillation mechanism allows an effective and even distribution of air across even the largest rooms (with the settings be controlled through its panel & remote control). It also utilizes an energy saving timer which turns itself off (which you can set up to 7.5, a great economical cooling device) as well as being ETL listed & patented. And to top it all off, it is neatly designed & is a generally handsome looking device.

Which tower fan will you buy for your living room and why?
