Best Travel Shoes for Men

By Edited Nov 25, 2015 0 0

We all want to travel free and easy but packing too many pairs of shoes can be a heavy burden. Whether your a backpacker or a businessman, you should be selective about the shoes you pack. You might get away with stuffing piles of pants, shirts and socks into every part of your travel bag but shoes are a different story. Shoes can take up a lot of space and can be damaged our ruined if you choose to cram them into your travel bag.

We all want to look good when we travel and we like to have the right shoes for every occasion. People judge our shoes more than any other item of clothing and your choice of travel shoe can make a big fashion statement. Whether you're trying to do business or simply pass the dress code at the local bar or nightclub, you want to know your shoes won't let you down. It might be the difference between making that sale or meeting that cute girl at the club.

Let's look at the different attributes that make up a good travel shoe.

The best travel shoes are lightweight because if we are not wearing them, we are most likely carrying them around on our back. Try carrying a big, heavy set of shoes like a pair of Timberland's around in your backpack all day, not fun! Also, when travelling you will probably be walking more than you usual. Every ounce more your shoe weighs can count a lot towards your energy levels and leg soreness when you have a long day of walking ahead of you.

Comfort should be a primary concern when it comes to a travel shoe. You will most likely be wearing the same pair of shoes everyday when you travel, so you want a shoe that fits well and makes your feet feel good.

Travel Tip: Choosing a travel shoe that doesn't require wearing socks might seem like a brilliant idea but if you are going to be in a hot climate where your feet will sweat a lot, you may be making a very fatal and smelly mistake.

A good travel shoe should be made of materials that are water resistant and protect your feet from getting wet. Materials such as leather, synthetic or a quick dry mesh will help keep your feet dry.

Multi Purpose

A good travel shoe should function well in a variety of situations and not look out of place. You want to able to walk, hike and play soccer on the beach during the day, then throw on a pair of jeans and go for dinner and some drinks at night, all without having to change your shoes.
