Even if the potential customers don't write down and remember your exact website address at least you will be letting them know that your home based business has a web presence on the internet.

Maybe you already ruled out advertising your home business in the media because of the high costs. There is a great chance that your targeted audience does not live in the same geographic area. This would mostly rule out radio, newspapers and nationwide TV stations. Rather than advertising with these methods, a good practice would be to start looking at the local media sources rather than nationwide media to place your advertisements. For example, If you have a website about starting an home based business in the New York area you should be advertising in home based business brochures, magazines and local cable channels that are based out of New York. You should also target local media sources that feature programs and materials about making money from home, home based businesses, work from home, money making opportunities, earning extra cash, part time jobs, etc.

If there is an industry event or a trade show for the industry your home based business is a part of, go to it and participate while marketing your home business at the same time. Industry events are a great places to meet other home business owners that you can network with.
