Best Windows Smartphone – HTC Titan II and Lumia 900

Windows Smartphones are generally not well positioned as their Android and iOS counterpart. That said, a lot of people are looking forward to the HTC Titan II. If you are into gadgets, you would have noticed that the Titan2 is not the only Windows Smartphone to make the rounds in 2012.  The Nokia Lumia 900 has also had a lot of press lately. One of the reasons for this is because it will be one of the cheapest Smartphones to buy at only $100. That is of course for those who are willing to take on the AT&T subscription.

What is so special about the HTC Titan II?

When a manufacturer announces a new gadget like a Smartphone, readers and users will often want to know what the new device will offer in comparison to competitors like the iPhone and Samsung Android based phones. Design is very important in the world of small handheld devices and HTC is not known to give cutting edge design. That said, it is of no use to have a sleek looking phone that doesn’t offer the features you need. For those looking for the biggest Smartphone yet, the 4.7-inch screen that comes with the HTC II if of titanic proportions. That is a big phone that can almost disguise as a tablet PC.  The Nokia Lumia 900 only offers a 4.3-inch screen. When it comes to processing power, the HTC Titan II gives you 1.5GHz of CPU which is a minimum you would expect with any modern decent Smartphone. It also offers a 16GB of internal storage space aka memory. This is not bad but 32GB will be a nice alternative. Some will obviously need more storage but the phone doesn’t come with the microSD reader that makes adding more storage possible (easier). You can put your information on cloud storage but that might not fit the needs of many users who would like to have all their files local on their appliance.

The 16 megapixel camera is a dream come true for those who love taking pictures. This is one of the features that will appeal to those who want to get the best from their Smartphone and do not want to carry an additional device like a digital camera. That said, with such a high camera resolution, it also means you will be using more storage space on your internal memory. That can be an issue because this phone doesn’t allow easy storage space extension.

Everyone interested in the Smartphone will definitely want to know how much it will cost. The HTC Titan II will be available for $200 with a subscription to AT&T. That is $100 more when compared to the price of the Nokia Lumia 900. The HTC Titan II is good but it is not exceptional and it will cost you more. That might be one of the reasons why some will rather go for the Nokia Lumia 900 that offers similar feature at half the price. If you are already a fan of HTC, you might want to stick to the same brand. If you want something cheaper with similar features, the Nokia Lumia 900 will give you want you want.
