I have the unfortunate experience of having rather large pores on my chin and nose. As a result, I seem to get a lot of breakouts in those areas due to oil buildup. After trying a lot of different toners and cleansers, I discovered that a deep pore cleanser would work best when it comes to preventing those breakouts in the areas where I have large pores. I have tried a few different brands over the past few years and have definitely found my favorites.

Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser Review

When I was in college, Neutrogena Clear Pore was my favorite deep pore cleanser. The best thing about it for me was the price. I could regularly buy it for around $5 and sometimes even cheaper than that if there was a coupon in the Sunday paper. I actually tried a few of the cheap pore cleaners and this one was the best of the bunch. The great thing about it is that you can use it as a cleanser or as a mask. I did both with good results. My skin always feels soft and smooth after using it, but it does tingle a little bit while the mask is setting up or while the cleanser is on your face. I got it in my eye in the shower once and it actually burned pretty bad. Other than that, I had no problems with this pore cleanser. Neutrogena is not there in the list of top 10 best pore minimizing products 2012 however the fact is that it is very good and a great product for pore cleansing.

Zia Natural Skincare Ultimate Deep Pore Cleanser Review

Now that I’m out of college, Zia Natural Skincare Ultimate Deep Pore Cleanser is my usual brand of deep pore cleanser. It is a bit more expensive than the Neutrogena cleanser with a price of around $24. Of course, the Zia cleanser has better ingredients like orange peel oil, jojoba, shea butter, sea kelp and rosewood oil. I think that is why it makes my skin feel a thousand times softer than the Neutrogena or any other brand. I use it once in the morning and once in the evening. It only takes a little of it to work on your entire face. In the evening I even use it to take off my makeup. It really leaves my skin feeling clean and taut, which works wonders on my wrinkles. It kind of feels like there are some exfoliating beads in the cleanser, which is why my skin feels so refreshed after using it. But it is not one of those harsh exfoliating cleansers that can leave your face all red after you use it.

I usually follow up my deep pore cleanser with an anti-aging moisturizer to help keep my skin looking its best.
