Best iPad Case

By | Oct 5, 2010 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

So you want to find the best iPad case but don't know where to start. No problem just check out the following guide to sorting out which iPad cover will be best for you personally.

There are thousands of different cases available, and hundreds that are great. But what might be perfect for me and the way I use my iPad may be completely wrong for you. So read on and you should be ordering your ideal case in no time:

  1. First up you have to set yourself a budget. There are some great and cheap iPad covers that will do all you need. If you cannot afford to spend lots it is a waste of time to get caught up longing for the most luxurious and beautiful cases around.
  2. Now decide whether you want a simple case to carry your iPad, or one that stays on and that you use your iPad in.
  3. If you want to use your iPad "naked" not in a folio style cover you need a carry case, pouch or sleeve. The best iPad cases in sleeve or pouch style will be secure but quick and easy to get your iPad in and out of.
  4. If you want something that protects the device all the time you need either a shell type cover (which can be soft silicone or hard polycarbonate) or a folio style cover.
  5. Shell type covers are great for giving bump protection but make sure you choose one which gives good access to all controls and ports. You may want an additional slightly over-sized sleeve to carry your iPad around as shells rarely protect the display of the tablet.
  6. Folio or book style covers are extremely popular since they continue to protect the device all the time. If you want to prop up your iPad be sure to get one with a built in stand that allows the device to be stood up at various angles for the most flexibility.

Now you have narrowed down your choice it is time to think about the fun stuff; style...

  • Traditionalists will tend to go for leather. It offers a good degree of ding protection, looks good and ages well. For a greener alternative look for Eco leather such as that in the Marware iPad Case "Eco" range. This is made in a far less polluting way than most modern tanning, or hemp which is extremely durable and kind to cows! Laughing
  • For the ultimate in shock resistance and modern styling choose a polycarbonate with an overlay of silicone such as those used in Otterbox cases.
  • For practical yet feminine looking iPad cases try Japanese inspired canvas printed cases from JavoEdge.
  • For those that love a retro vibe you can't beat the Etch A Sketch case. Load up the matching app and you have an iPad fit for any renogade kid from the 70's!

We hope this guide and suggestions has inspired you to find the best iPad case to suit your personal needs and tastes.
