Better Homes and Garden Sweepstakes - Win a Dream House 2013

By Edited May 8, 2015 1 2

Every year since 1997, Better Homes and Garden Sweepstakes has been a way for one lucky winner to win a dream house.

And these houses typically NEVER disappoint. For more than 15 years, people have been able to win homes in Stowe VT, Sonoma CA, Beaufort SC, Rosemary Beach FL, Jackson Hole WY and Park City Utah just to name a few. The HGTV dream home sweepstakes has become a yearly tradition with many home design lovers, particularly as we usher in a new year.

The Better Homes and Garden Sweepstakes starts every year at the end of the year, typically December 29 at 9 am ET and typically runs through early to mid February. And the good news is that you can enter twice daily for a chance to win a dream house on HGTV.

The beauty of these homes is that over the years they have evolved as technology does as well. Take the HGTV Green Home for 2013. The home is a beautiful island off the coast of South Carolina called Kiawah. This year's coastal SC home is lovingly referred to as "Low Country Zen," by mixing the country farmhouse with an Asian inspired ultramodern function.

How to Win the HGTV Dream House?

Well as they say in any lottery or sweepstakes, you gotta play to win. The best thing to do is to join the HGTV newsletter. That way every year you are always alerted of when it's time to enter. Secondly, as most positive thinkers say, you'll want to be as positive as possible in order to ensure that you actually have a shot.

  • Go to the HGTV website for Better Homes and Gardens on December 29 at 9 AM ET. And enter your name, address and telephone number. You'll want to ensure that all information is accurate because you want a fair shot of winning the home right?
  • Remember to enter as many times as you can on any given day. At the date of this publication the rule is that you can only enter the HGTV sweepstakes twice daily. You'll not want to do anything to jeopardize this chance, so don't cheat and enter multiple names or addresses. Sweepstakes like these have a way of validating all of the entrants to make sure everything is above board.
  • Return to the website to add your name and information again (but remember the twice a day limit).
  • Visualize yourself living in an HGTV home and winning the Home and Garden Sweepstakes.

  • Get your friends and family to enter as well. Hey maybe if you don't win your cousin will and you can still come to visit. OK, sure you'd rather win, but what if a friend or family won instead, wouldn't' that be cool. If the home is far away from you and the person who won maybe you could even alternate living in the space....or maybe not.

  • Continue to think positive thoughts and enter whenever you can and stay by your phone in February, because you could be the lucky winner of a HGTV dream home.
