What is the World's Largest Book?

Have you ever wondered what the world's largest book looked like, or what it cost for that matter?  Well feast your eyes on this humongous book, Bhutan: A Visual Odyssey Across the Kingdom.

Bhutan: A Visual Odyssey Across the Kingdom is a work of art created by MIT Director for Special Projects, Michael Hawley.  The book covers four trips to Bhutan between 1988 and 2002.

The Stats

So you are probably wondering just how large Bhutan actually is.  Well, the book is 114 pages long which really isn't too long.  What seperates this book from your standard book is that this book is printed on paper that is 5 feet high and opens to nearly 7 feet in width.   The book weighs in at a massive 133 lbs and was contains enough paper to cover an entire football field.

The Price

The book originally sold for a price tag of $10,000 USD with the cost of production being $1000 per book.  If you wanted to pick up a copy of Bhutan today, the sticker price on Amazon.com is $30,000 USD. Proceeds from the book sales are generously being donated to the Bhutan Ministry of Education and to a scholarship fund to send Bhutanese students to college abroad

If you doubt this book being the largest book in existence, take a peak at any Guiness Book or World Record book after 2003 and you should see it noted.
