Bill Clinton Odd Eating Habits

Research into Bill Clinton's Odd Eating Habits

What Weird Food Does Bill Clinton Eat?

Bill Clinton's odd eating habits have become public knowledge through interviews with his former chef, restaurant managers and even his own wife.  While in office, President Clinton was known to really enjoy his food.  However, he decided to take his diet more seriously after undergoing bypass surgery in 2004.  It's hard to say if Bill Clinton's odd eating habits were because of the stress of his job, or that he just really enjoyed food.

A New York Times article, written in December of 1992 by Marian Burros, really digs deep into Bill Clinton's odd eating habits.  Burros interview Hilary Clinton, as well as owners and managers of restaurants that Mr. Clinton was known to frequent quite often.  His diet can be easily summed up as large amounts of meat with very little fruits or vegetables, along with dessert after every meal.  This doesn't really making his eating choices strange, just unhealthy.

Bill Clinton's odd eating habits also included cinnamon rolls as big as hubcaps and covered in margarine, multiple pork chops for a single dinner, jalapeno cheeseburgers, chicken enchiladas, pork barbecue, baked beans, sliced beef, sweet potato pie and potato salad.  This was also combined with little to no exercise, which contributed to Mr. Clinton's heart issues.

Based on all of the information that I found, Bill Clinton's odd eating habits seem to be more of a myth than actual fact.  The question I often came across was, what weird food does Bill Clinton eat?  Well, it sounds like he just had a really unhealthy diet, but I wouldn't call any of it strange or weird.  Millions of people eat the same exact way, with little to no concern about the nutritional value of their food.

I was hoping to find Bill Clinton's odd eating habits to be something like eating cheeseburgers with grilled cheese sandwiches serving as the bun, at 3:00 in the morning.  However, it just turned out that he ate what he wanted, whenever he wanted, which is no different than what a lot of us do.  He's just a public figure, which made it much more interesting.

Mr. Clinton

cleaned up his eating habits after having his bypass surgery, going mostly vegan.  He said this because he still ate fish once in a while, but mainly had a plant based diet.  This worked very well for him, as it helped him lose weight and improve his overall health.  For Bill's sake, I'm glad he improved his eating habits and now has a much healthier diet.
