Birthday Party Invitations
Need party ideas to make your special occasion more memorable? Party planners abound but you need not search far. When I was thinking of some novel ideas for my husband's 50th birthday, I knew I could count on my sister to help me. Ever since we were small, she always came up with some really extraordinary ideas to spice up celebrations and events. Many of us who know her are not surprised that now, she is enjoying her job as a successful events planner, coordinating major city happenings and fundraisers in a big city.
So one afternoon she came over and assisted me with the planning of the party. I wanted this to be an exceptional event to celebrate this milestone in my husband's life, so it must start with the birthday party invitations. There were the usual birthday party invitations at the stationery shops as well as those we have received from others who also turned 50. My sister suggested that we could design an original birthday party invitation on the computer. The card making program had stock birthday party invitations printed with all the pertinent information such as date, time and venue on the inside. The front cover was left blank for any design.
My sister's idea was to have photos of my husband taken while in kindergarten all the way to graduation. After digging into the album my mother-in-law had lovingly made, my sister chose all the school pictures, scanned them and made them smaller. This series of photos were lined up across the front cover of the invitation. Then on the inside cover we placed a recent picture of my husband with his prize catch when he went fishing that summer. We wrote in the time and the day inviting our friends to our home and celebrate with us this momentous day. What an original design for our birthday party invitations!
Then my sister printed a larger version of the birthday party invitations, brought it to a printer who made matching placemats.
Refreshments would be finger foods and several choices of beverages and two birthday cakes. My husband loves cheesecake so we had one decorated as a birthday cake, and a yummy chocolate birthday cake for those who would rather skip the cheesecake.
Thanks to my sister's priceless assistance, both the birthday party invitations and placemats were smashing conversational pieces as we gathered for this special celebration.
May this give you ideas for your own sensational birthday party invitations. If you need more events and birthday party invitations concepts try my sister!
