Black Skirts and Pencil Skirts - The Fashionable and Economical Choice

By | Aug 10, 2009 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

Buying a new skirt takes a lot of consideration. If you want to save money when purchasing a skirt , fit is only one of the factors that matters. Other important aspects to consider are the design and color. Each element makes a significant difference in the functionality of the dress, thus affecting the value.
There is always a feeling of exhilaration when purchasing an item that adds a large amount of utility to ones wardrobe. A new skirt means hundreds of new outfit combinations are available.

Skirts are great for sporting to just about any event. Skirts can be made to look more or less formal, depending on how one accessorizes it. Wear a blazer and button up blouse with a black skirt and you have a professional suit. Change the button up to a cotton t-shirt and that skirt can be worn to watch a sporting event or a casual walk with the dog. Because the skirt is black, you can add a sweater and wear it during the winter, or a tank top and wear it in the summertime. The trick to this versatility is picking the right fabric. Worsted wool is great for professional or casual office space, but not so great for that sporting event. A cotton skirt is ideal for the sporting event but may not look that professional at the office. The best fabric, and the most versatile, is a Lycra and cotton mix.

To get the most utility out of a skirt, it's also important to have a great fit, a non-trendy style and a basic color. While it may seem bland, there are sexy styles of basic skirts that look fantastic and still can be worn with anything and to anywhere.

A basic black pencil skirt is stylish throughout every season and year. It is also sexy and looks great on nearly every figure. Another great style is a flared A-line skirt. Both of these styles have been both trendy and a staple for years.

It's always tempting to buy the current trends in skirts, however, skirts that are too trendy end up pushed at the back of the closet when the trend finishes. Spending a hundred dollars on a skirt that can be worn for one season isn't a great value, but spending the same amount on a skirt that can be worn for years, is a fantastic value. A cheap skirt doesn't necessarily mean spending less, it just means getting more value for your buck.
