Blue kitchen design ideas aren't the typical colors for kitchens. Blue is a cooler color. It's usually thought that warmer colors such as orange, red, and yellow are more appetizing. Blue is more of a typical paint color for bedrooms and bathrooms. It's also said that blue is the most popular favorite color around the world, so why not use it in the kitchen? If you are trying to break out of your beige box or just going for something different try a blue kitchen. Therefore if you bring blue into the kitchen you'll need to warm it up so it's appetizing.

A turquoise kitchen ensures that your room will be a lively space instead of cool and calming. Turquoise has a retro vibe to it so you can create the feeling of a retro diner in your room. Line your countertops with aluminum strips and paint your existing cabinets’ turquoise. Apply new chrome handles to the fronts so it almost has the look of a classic Cadillac. Inexpensive white laminate countertops and vinyl floors complete the look. You can accessorize with a retro print valance and bring in pops of red to coordinate with the turquoise. You might even be able to find a retro dinette set online or use a retro inspired wallpaper. If you want to bring turquoise into a traditional kitchen then paint your lower cabinets turquoise and leave the upper ones bright white. This gives character to a room filled with basic white appliances and ceramic tile floors. Painting the cabinets a bright color is a way to give your home a wow factor. This is really essential if you live in a neighborhood, or condo, where all of the apartments are the same.

Blue kitchen cabinets can make your room modern. Go with an ice blue in a high gloss finish so your doors almost have the appearance of glass. This will blend in well with frosted glass light fixtures and stainless steel appliances and countertops. Paint your floor a bright white to complete the look. This cool color palette may make your room feel bigger and is a way to incorporate a classic color like blue into contemporary design.
